Prove this. The drivers are for communications pirposes only. Not to tell the USB to provide power. Also, please provide proof that USB 1.1 provides power.
As I have stated, I could be wrong but I have never heard of USB 1.1 providing power. USB 2.0 does.
Hmmm, isnt that what I said??? You know USB1.1 not providing power and USB2.0 does? Getting a little confused are we?

USB 1.1 will charge, we have an old HP N600c laptop that is USB1.1 and that will charge my k750i and my iPod, that is a side issue to whether or not I can get my k800i to USB charge though.

Second, as I have stated, USB 1.1 provides bus power but does not genrally have power to provide charging to devices. However this is not always true depending on the adaption of the specification. Example: Apple computers provide the exact amount of power specified by the USB standards. Some other computer manufactures, i.e. Dell provide quite a bit of power to their USB ports, and to drive external devices such as HD's etc...

sorry if you've already answered this question but, can you use the USB at the moment to transfer to and from your memory card and phone memory? because if you can't do that yet then the USB won't charge ur phone.
All drivers must be installed before any charging occurs.
This is true because at work I plugged my phoine in but was not allowed to install the drivers. my phone did not charge....

Yeah I can access the internal memory and the M2 Card I have in my phone as D and E when I plug the phone into the computer using the USB cable, I do have the drivers installed correctly I think, I might try downloading them again from SE and giving it another go, thanks.

I have uninstalled the PC Suite from the PC restarted and then just installed the Install Me First Drivers from the latest PC Suite download and now the phone charges when I plug it in, so it must have been a driver install issue, thanks for the help.

NEGATIVE. I have a Mac and there are no drivers to install and I can charge my k800i. Sooooooooooooooo your driver theory is incorrect.
