Just got my Voda version of the Hytn and i cant get back keyboard backlight to work.
When i open the keyboard, the back light does not work. I have also checked the options under Settings > Buttons > Backlight and still does not work..
I am missing something here?
Please Help.

@bbasra
Have you pressed a keyboard key (in low light) to activate the keboard light? - it doesn't come on automatically.

@edatkin, thanks for that. Just tried it and it works.
Thought my backlight wasnt working there for some reason.

Bigpengu888....
I haven't tried it myself, but from reading some of the posts over at xda-developers it appears that its possible to unlock the phone and flash it to any brand of firmware once unlocked.
Still very happy with my M3100 (although I do feel kind of sad about moving away from SE devices after all these years) in fact the only thing I miss compared to my old 900 at the moment is the Krusell 'Dynamic' case I used to keep the thing in - if anyone knows of a similar one for the TyTn please let me know

My God !!!!!
This is awesome..I just kicked off a topic in the esato forum about WM Devices and thought wil be barred for life

but this topic seems to be going on quite well
For an update from my side, the P990 is already out in India, where I live and I got a chance to play around with it. I have used both the P Series & the O2 XDA, XDA IIs, XDA mini, XDA Atom and had issues with my Atom. The P990 felt good but I had some minor issues even when I was fooling around with the phone in the shop. (Memory allocation issue, screen froze etc..)
Reading Massuer's ardent admiration of the TyTn has takne me again to the dark side of WM Devices
There are no TyTn rebranded devices in India still and am trying to get the Dopod 838 Professional from Singapore. Its just a matter of time and hopefullt this time round, will have a Phone which works like a phone (Atom had really poor call quality) and will also allow me to do all the other smart things have got used to
Cheers,
Deepak

Perhaps a slightly sad sign of the times that

has pushed peoples patience to the limit with the long delays on the P990i.
On the other hand this kind of discussion is healthy for everyone involved and the good of the forum as a whole IMO - it is nice to see people finally accept there are other competitive manufacturers out there other than

, and even better to see some good clean (and for the most part well reasoned) debate about it.

One area that has not really been discussed in this debate is the issue of virus attacks being targeted more to Windows systems than others.
Any ideas how this will pan out in the UIQ3 vs WM5 ? Is the WM5 OS as readily targetted?
then to reiterate a previous (slightly off topic) earlier question: Does anyone know if the TyTN will be supprted on the SE HCB-700 car bluetooth handsfree and if so to what extent? Does anyone have this combo?

As Vodafone have not been able to replace my faulty TyTN they have given me 30 days to evaluate it!

I am now of the view that my current TyTN probably has a defective screen as well as keyboard as having seen a few pictures for Masseur's TyTN my TyTN screen does not look as good as his one.

i did wonder why you thought the screen was not good but I didn't want to get too much into that as its often difficult to compare from pics.
putting the P990 next to the TyTN I am in no way dissatisfied with the screen and ouside readability is much the same too
