After you get the message that you have the latest fw, don't you see an option to reflash anyway?
Also, delete the update file that is downloaded to your PC, if that file is corrupted than it doesn't matter how many times you reflash, you'll still get the error. You need to download the complete fw from SEUS and reflash that to your P990.

No option to reflash anyway, SEUS is stubborn. I rmeoved the update software and reinstalled. Still same thing.

I agree on the service center idea. Me gonna put some big Timberlands on too. I have SE cradles installed in two cars for this phone, its ridiculous.

Just out of curiosity, what operating system are you using? I have done SEUS several times on P990 and once on my girlfriends Z530 and always I see the "continue anyway" button after the message saying no update is available. However, that message has a way of disappearing after a while so stick around and make sure you don't miss that particular screen.
Also harass those SE support guys as to the reason why this happens, big Timberlands should help
