As a Swedish guy, can I still use åäö in sms for example?

Extended characters work in all versions

What about menu languages?

Du kommer inte märka någon skillnad. Jag har uppdaterat min till World Generic 1 och jag har fortfarande alla svenska alternativ kvar.

Hmmm, another nice thing I noticed is that the numbering of pictures taken is fixed now...

Before it reset the number to the amount of pics in the folder. So when I started taking pics without any previous pictures there it started at 1 again. Causing conflicts when I transfered them to my pc...

Now it simply resumes where it left, regardless of the content of the folder... Nice to see

say "/92", Sweden generic, all major swedish operators test it before they give their OK to SE to add a new firmware for this CDA, etc etc.

And if one of those major operators does not do this or does not like the new firmware, then the whole world having this CDA should suffer? I'm located in Hungary and I bought the phone from an official SE dealer. By the way there is no Hungarian CDA either, so what should all those like me do?

Changing the CDA is not officially supported by SE, is it?

Guys,
I'm about to change to WG-1 and upgrade to R6F41 from R6E30 this weekend. What do you think, shall I go for it, or stay on R6E30. I'm reading some issues with the new FW here and I can't make a decission now. Please help me a bit.

Am I gaining more with the new FW than I loose if I stay? That's the question...

What I could summarize up to know is that with the new FW I shall have
- faster operation,
- improved camera interface
- corrected camera picture numbering

but
- Bluetooth remains the same (I'm having problems with it while syncing to my PC)
- I loose hungarian language support in the menu (not important) and in the T9 dictionary (could be an issue) - no language packs available at the moment for newest FW
- more software crashes than with current FW

Can you extend my list?

Thanks

@ dembala

Just the improvement in speed is enough for me to recommend you do it but don't forget that there are now far fewer crashes/freezes when using the wifi, especially when you try to shut down when it cannot log onto a network for whatever reason. I also don't agree with the suggestion that this firmware is less stable. If anything, I find it has improved.

When I upgraded to R6E30 I was able to do it in 6 days after WG. I don't understand why we now have to wait for so long. I have "/92", which they say is Sweden generic and I bought mine from an official SE dealer in Cyprus. I don't think the delay is because "operators within a certain CDA-area will do rigorous testing” I think the explanation is more simple: SE don't really know what they are doing.

Friends,

I have the Dutch CDA 162024/54 and would like to update to R9J005 - R6F41. Since I have skipped the previous firmware update and I don't want to accidentally install that one, I need to be sure that R9J005 - R6F41 is available for /54.
The last time it took a couple of weeks before the Dutch version became available. Does anyone of you know if it is available yet?

Thanks! Great Forum!
