how do you restore apps after a hard reset...i had to get the installation files again but the application settings is still there

Yes that was what I meant. I have to reinstall the apps and hope that the settings still are there. It doesn't work that great since the apps installed on the memory card still take up space of being installed without the phone finding them - not sure if I will bother to backup the important stuff and try to wipe the memory card clean as well.

I'm really starting to regret updating the phone in the first place, but what can you do...

@raafat I have the system working with rompatcher. How do I do a z drive dump? Should I just copy z: to the memcard and zip it up?

did not read the previous post. will do a dump and post it.

Phew well I've done it, now have the update and the vivaz screen working as well as hellox/rompatcher.
Didnt realise that you could minimise the black media box on the vivaz homescreen .
Would be even better if we could remove the black box completely as it spoils part of the aquarium theme.

The update, although not the all singing and dancing upgrade that some people thought may happen. Is still an improvement and the phone is faster (for now). Its worth updating providing people dont make the mistake of re flashing and wiping the phone that I did

Thank you to those who advised on Davinci . never used them before and relieved that it worked.

So, what's the conclusion? What should we avoid and what must we do to do the update without any of those problems?

After the update you say rompatcher+ (install before the update) is still working, but my questions are:
Is it possible to open rompatcher to apply new patch? Is it possible to access al file on Z and C drivers and move, modify?

I still dont know why I had problems with the 1st update, when I switched on the phone it really didnt like my memory card.
After using Davinci to go back and then re hacking etc, the SEUS update was better and less mb, 88mb on this update compared to 113mb on the 1st attempt.
I played safe on rebooting this time and booted without the memory card and put it back later once I was sure the phone was stable.

I can open rompatcher and activate the green ticks etc.
