You had some great scenes with your other phones Guarulhos, can you go back and retake those with your 808? I love the falls specifically. Should be great to see them through the 808

Anyone willing to give it a try on how the image quality changed?

No difference in quality between fp1 and fp2 .. the confusion came from people complaining about the quality in the other fp1 devices (603,700,701) where they updated the camera app with the one from the 808, and the quality went down for some reason.. which is very similar to what happened to the N8 when they updated the camera app from Anna to Belle.
No change for the 808. FP2 is great overall.. they did a good job.
Guarulhos congrats on the 808 .. you got a red one.. very rare!
I mainly shoot in automatic mode, but here are my custom settings:
C1 (landscape): 8Mpix PureView mode, superfine jpeg, vivid colors, sharpness +1, ND filter off for the most part, I only turn it on if its a really bright scene. Don't worry, it will look like its overexposed on screen, but once you take the shot it will be okay.
If you want more color, bring the saturation up. Adjust EV and ISO according to the conditions. If you want a natural looking image, which I prefer, just set the color mode to normal.
C2(sunset/sunrise): 5Mpix PureView mode, superfine jpeg, vivid, everything else on 0. Color tone: cloudy. EV on -.7 .. depending on conditions. ND filter OFF (faster shutter speeds)
C3 (aiming for the most natural image): Full resolution, everything on default except +1 or +2 sharpness, nd filter OFF
At
night, if you want to blur motion.. ND filter ON and set the iso @ 50. If you just want to take a shot, you can go up to 800 iso, and the images are still usable.
for
HDR, bracketing mode 3 shots: -2, 0, +2 .. set the ISO to 100, ND filter to ON or OFF (not on auto)
Good luck shooting
its a great device overall..

@Guarulhos: Congratulations to your lovely red 808!
The red version is very rare in Europe, I wanted to buy one, but it was only available in two shops in my country, and rather expensive. I found a white one at a good price and decided I didn't want to pay 100 euros more, just for the colour, so ordered the white one

I want an 808 so expensive though. Wish the high street shops had sold it here and networks took it on. Anyway much as I love the 808 photos one thing bugs me. The auto settings the colours seem pale

Maybe you're used to seeing the fake warmer colours of other pretenders ? all iPhones and Galaxy phones are guilty of this imo.
IMO only Nokia are capable in proper mobile imaging.

bonovox most OEMs tune their jpeg toward to warmer tones, mostly yellow, and they try hard to bring vivid colors on screen, so you get that immediate "punch", it works especially well with samsung's amoled screens. That way at first glance you think its great, and you don't even look at the quality... works great for Apple for example.
The Nokia jpeg is as neutral as it could be, and it kind of leans toward the cooler tone, blue.. which is kind of naturally occurring hue from the sun anyway.
The beauty of the 808 is that there are so many settings, and you can get more color out of it, if you want. The important part is that the quality is there as a base, and from that point you can do whatever. If its the other way around, where you get punchy colors but shitty quality.. there is just no way to get quality out of it, no matter what you do.
