Some good news although not a rumor.
Sony took 1% of smartphone industry profits in Q4 2016 vs Samsung (9%)

That's good news. Maybe after a period of financial stability they can go for growth again.

I'm surprised we have had some kind of teaser images or videos from Sony on any of their media channels. Would be good to get a little excitement or buzz spreading around before MWC.

Yeah, I remember the countdown websites they used to put up before announcements. Haven't seen one of them in ages.

Is it me...or do the numbers in that article not quite add up!
Apple 92%
Samsung 9%
Sony 1%

Total 102%

It comes from other manufacturer's losses.

Because all the other ones make catastrophic losses.

Any news on Xperia X Performance's succesor. I like the design better than XZ. I hope there is one coming this year, especially Apple is rumoured to make a 5 inch phone for iPhone's 10th year anniversary.
It would be nice to see all of Xperia X Performance features plus SD 835, 128 gb UFS 2.1 internal ROM, new camera with 3-axis OIS and EIS, wireless charging, and Iris Scanner in Xperia X body (plus alkaleido metal back). This kind of device would be a good alternative to upcoming addition to the iPhone family.
I don't think there is a need for a 5.2" screen flagship. It is quite big for some looking for iPhone 4.7" alternative and quite small for people looking for a phablet.
