FPS needs to move to the back of the device of be a button, the Xperia 5 FPS is terrible.

This one is kinda deep into the frame.
Rear FPS is ugly.
Camera in the center looks nicer.
X1 looks better than X5.

I think 5 looks better, also there are other options for the sensor placement. I left top bezel unchanged, I think they can fit a face recognition system there.
You shouldn't register the same finger multiple times. You can train the sensor after you added your fingerprint. It adds the missing parts after partial matches. Saw a post about this on Reddit. There's a Pixel video showing this.

Xz2 arrived with 8, got 9, gonna get 10. Xz3 arrived with 9 will only get 10 just like xz1. If Xperia 5 had 10 when it launched it would have been the same story. Note 8 is the same age as the XZ1 it had 7 and was updated to 9, xz1 already had 8. It's an illusion. If you got something else at that time you still would end up with 9 as final. You're not losing anything and your device is not neglected. It's just that Sony had early access to new android versions this past 2 years.
@hawk uwa is the most beloved. Rumors put the 2.6" sensor under that lens for the next generation

One problem is: Huawei, Samsung and Apple can put 1/1.5", 1/1.2" if they want because they know they will sell at least 30 millions flagships. Apple much more. How can Sony do same when they sell 300.000/month?
I think 1 and 5 are doing better than xz2/xz3, but midranges probably have weaker sales than xa2 trinity.
Bonus : Someone added to exmor wiki page a sensor called imx690. It says 96MP only. No size nor if it is QB type.

It's not like Sony is giving devices for free. 3 or 300000, they'll get their money for it. Besides, you can't watch others put 1" sensors and put something like 1/2" and sell it for the same price. They were late to multi cameras and OIS and we know how it turned out. Sony is selling them the sensors, they know what will come maybe 2 years later.
5 seems to be a lot more popular than 1. Are they performing better than XZ series? Idk. Sony retreated from a lot of places after XZ2, 0.6m were lower than last year's I think.
if imx690 is also 0.8um it's a 1/1.41" sensor. This could end up like 666, Huawei snatches it, modifies it and uses it while Xperia stays behind (since Huawei had 1/1.7 for years now)

Samsung will offer 8K recording sometime in the future, I think 0 will also offer it.
Xperia 3 being compact replacement and 9.1 being successor to 10+ don't make sense though. Compact should be between 5 and 8. Three suggests it's better than 5. Midranges having 5G is a good sign that they'll use a good chip unless they go for MTK.
