I've heard everyone bash the R2A003 firmware, I got my K700i last week and it came with this firmware? Is it bad? Should I definatly be getting mine flashed ASAP?

Edit: Oops, thought you were talking about R2AE.
Erm, if your talking about R2AA003 then it was withdrawn by SE due to connectivity issues - I personally had no problems connecting mine with bluetooth but I think the issues were related to something else. If you don't have any problems with it then I wouldn't bother, but maybe think about upgrading to R2AE using the official update site if it is ever released there.
(Or did you mean R2A041)

Sorry my bad, missed an A. Its R2AA003. It's nice to see when SE pulls firmware from their phones, they still sell phones with it. :-/
I've used BlueTooth on it no problems at all, sending files from my phone to my PC, and visa versa.

Well if all you use is bluetooth then you shouldn't have any problems at all with that firmware, I found it to be very good - but as I said, some people had other connection problems so they removed it. Yeah, it is strange that you received your phone with it though.
Also, there is still a delay when answering a call in that firmware, which is supposedly fixed (not tested myself) with the R2AE version.

What makes me doubtful is that

now offers newer FWs to the shops while continues to lock down the SEUS FW to R2L for older buyers.
Due to recent "FW upgrade" issues (some cells dead),
IMO, I'm afraid that SEUS is going to be considered by

as a needed upgrade for those with the buggy earlier FWs only!
There's no promise that quite robust R2L FW will be upgraded further...
I'd be happy to be refuted by the facts..!

OK
Some one said me that with R2AA, SE started to include the Advanced search function in the phone book - so you can search a name by typing several characters.
BUT the issue here is - when you've typed several letter and then pressed C button to delete the last typed letter - it would delete the CONTACT itself, not the searching letter.
With R2AE,the error has been corrected.
Dont know if are there something more....

Hi,
I have bought k700i just today. I was going thro the firmware versions and its history. It is really nice to see all at one place.
I presently have R2AA003
Can u plz tell me which is the latest and the best one?
Also, I wanted to know whether there is any difference other than the firmware version between 2-3 months old k700i and recently bought one?

The latest available firmware (only through unofficial means at the moment as far as I know) is R2AE as shown on the first page of this thread.
To my knowledge, there is no difference between a K700 purchased a few months ago and one purchased now (maybe someone else knows more). I think that the firmware is going to be the only difference as it basically defines all of the software on the phone. Of course, depending on where you got the phones from, the software customisations made to it could have changed. For example, O2 seemed to sell a wide range of customisations of the K700 software; from full customisation with logos etc and inability to use the official update service, to fully uncustomised software that allowed use of this service.
