generic durians are available all year round...
they look, feel, stink and taste the same.
"special" durians are seasonal...
when i mentioned special... i really meant special
they even got special names to boot
namely "red prawn" "XO" or whatever spur-of-the-moment "special" name the peddlar cooks up just to relieve you from a few extra dollars per kilogram.
further clarification and confirmation required from shits as i'm frankly not fond of durians myself
