I've just come back from the garage... With no new tires... The bastids at Peugeot lost my wheel nut key... Now they gotta drill them off and can't fit me in for another week.... ARSE!!!!!!

Bossjohnc...
They may be cheap but by the time i've paid for fitting and balancing they'll only be about a fiver cheaper... Not really worth the hassle...

Aye - that's my point of view too...

My car uses Dunlop S2000s @ 205/45/15 - completely standard. Dunlop are the only people who make a tyre in that size.

All the places that I ask are always surprised.

@Leight - are you saying the people who fit your tyres lost the locking key...? Or your peugeot dealer?

If you've got standard wheels on, the locking nut keys are quite often the same, got any mates with the same car?

Peugeot take for ever to call back... My tires are so shagged that if they do drill my nuts off then they'll insist i put new tires on there and then... And they charge a bloody fortune!!!(nut drilling and replacement nuts are free!!!)
John... They're peugeot nuts... Apparently they're right bastids to get off so the only way is drillin... Peugeot lost the nut keys last time it was there... I thought it was just back inside the spare!!

Possibility of damaging the alloys there...

If I were you I'd either get peugot to promise to match the tyre places price on the tyres or promise to let you drive away.

It's their fault you're there anyway. I'd press for the former.

Wont a reverse thread socket (from most car accessory shops eg. halfords/ripspeed) and an impact drive work ? You will need to get new locking wheel nuts ready though. Happened to me on my Cav. Taken it to have some kevlar pads and grooved/drilled discs fitted and the nut key wasn't in the tool compartment where I'd left it. The lad broke 3 sockets trying to get the nuts off. Took his anger out on my wheels by throwing them across the garage. Didnt know I was watching though Got everything fitted for free cos he damaged one of the alloys.

Gotta check if my P900 has arrived back. Its been away for just over 2 months with software faults and have been told it should be arriving today. My K700i will be back to gathering dust if it's arrived

You are better going to smaller, independant garages, the dealer garages rip you off completely, and places like kwikfit just dont give a fcuk.

kwikfit does have a reputation to uphold though.

and small and independant is by no means a guarantee for quality.

kwikfit are the worst of the worst! they never fix it properly, so that you have to go back! Its almost company policy! You will never get a guarantee that the work will be done right no matter where, but smaller companies will try harder to keep your business.
