Thuggie...does Airtel Srinagar ve EDGE ???
Caring my laptop & wife's 6020...Airtel confirmed I'll get edge in Delhi but didn't know abt Srinagar...I get decent 23 KiloByte/sec download speeds here in Bombay...enuff for my trading & small download needs but they share the same ip 4, I don't know how many users...problems downloading 4m mega & rapid...neither hide ip nor changing the proxys manually help...but for 360/month unlimited download/upload ain't bad. I keep downloading from mega & rapids 4 early mornings.
I know there's a way 2 get it free but too lazy 2 try it out...will see after I m back.
Btw, Airtel C care told me that Postpaid downloads/uploads are charged @ 40p /MB (initial 100MB free) but prepaid aren't. Monthly rentals are the same. Quite stupid. My wife has a prepaid sim though

@has,if i remember well,i think airtel launched their GPRS 2-3 months back in Jammu.dont know about Srinagar.EDGE?...nah thats way too advanced for this state.

and yes...airtel here is useless for calls.u need to dial a no 5/10/15 times for connecting coz bsnl here acts bitchy by not giving them connectivity.it good only for calling airtel local numbers.
