Ideal combo would be versions of 1 that have : 15cm and 13,5 cm.
I still dont understand why the 4K screen has cropped resolution when the FHD does not.

4k is a horizontal resolution
Fhd HD etc are vertical
So it's not cropped it's not UHD

I know that there are different kinds of 4K.
Xperia 1has almost same resolution used by cinema.
But it is weird to see that 10/10+ still have 1080p with vertical addition but Xperia 1 has kept 3840 but reduced on the other side. It would be weird to see midranges with 1920 x less than 900.

Because it works for 4k not for fhd.
Also if they kept 2160 pixels that'd make the display 5k, and at 6.5" that was simply not possible with the current technology. Don't know about this or next year.
Again, they did not reduce it. It is the cinema 4k resolution.
Also a very clever trick if you ask me. You can market it as 4k with less display area and lower ppi and lower cost.
I doubt this rumored 5k device will be Oled. 1 already have dimmer display, can't imagine how 800-900ppi would be.

Is true 4K with 21:9 aspect ratio.
1080p movies or Blu-rays aren't 1920x1080 but 1920x800 or similar
For example the 4K Blu-ray of Alita Battle Angel has a resolution of 3840x1608p, not 2160p but still 4K

Full HD+ resolution on 18:9 or 19:9 is necessary because if it was just Full HD cropped then a screen with 1920 pixels on a 6.5 inch diagonal would not look as sharp or crisp as on 5.5 inch diagonal. But that's not an issue when the number of pixels is 3840. It's also perfect for upscaling anything of Full HD resolution.
IMO 4K cropped resolution is more than enough on a phone. More would result in even lower battery endurance and unnecessary load on the processor.

Whatever the PY7-00532F phone on the fcc is, it no longer has a physical label, at least not in the fcc docs and is not available in the settings, E-Label.
Same for PY7-11643I and PY7-26817E, guess these might be region variants.
Also seems no more headphone jack here in this model the accessory list includes the EC270 2in1 usb/audio jack, so goodbye headphone jack on this model.

A model from late may, PY7-48130K still has the label on the actual device which you pull out, prob sd/sim slot.
This may have been all posted, but can't really keep up with the posts that are not related to the actual rumours.

All reviews say 1 can reach bit over 600 nits on auto. Near 500 for manual.
Value Z5P and XZP cannot.
I know that when you go closer to 6500K, screen loses brightness.
For example Z3/z4 have very cold screens, that is why they can be that bright.
If any of you have it, turn on creator mode only when you watch videos.
And go to settings and leave RGB at 0-0-0 ....
I think it may help.
Let's suppose the 5K phone is real. Probably bigger screen to keep ppi not much above X1.
Because with 6.5" , value would be above previous models.
I hope it is not the F .....

They should retain the 2160p and expand on the width instead imo. If you watch a 16:9 uhd source it will be displayed at full pixel.

With the current ppi level, if they just added pixels to the panel it'd make a 6.86" 16:9 and 8.54" 21:9(5k)
Gsmarena says the auto brightness is for video only. I mean maybe they do this for longer lifespan for the panel. If it's not a brightness issue it has to be a technology issue. Is there even a prototype that has that high of a ppi for Oled? Even if there is it's just extra cost. They should spend that money elsewhere imo.
