Sky Hi Posts: 106

Question: does updating through wotan delete the locked (undeletable) files of the phone too (like games, apps etc)? I wish it does!

It's NOT. Those locked stuffs remain there.

Excellent and helpful thread this, keep threads like this coming!

It seems after updating my K800i to the latest firmware version that typing bug from the initial release firmware version still seems to be there, and only affects the 2/abc key, none of the others! Unless of course my phone's got a slight fault there....

Other finding on R1JC002, updated via Wotan:
Now you CANNOT view SVG files from file manager anymore! In all previous f/w, when you had svg wallpapers kept in Picture folder, you could view them without problem. The phone would launch the internet browser and displayed the svg files there, which is strange actually, why it launches internet browser, unlike when previewing jpeg or gif files. On R1JC002, when you want to view the file, the phone launches the browser and displays NOTHING, just WHITE SCREEN. The only way to view svg file is by setting it as your standby wallpaper. But, the phone speed is slightly reduced when you use svg as the wallpaper.

I just used the SEUS on my Orange phone and it's now been updated to R1GB001.

Just thought I'd post so the original poster can update the "SEUS will currently install the following firmware revisions for UK phone brands:" part of the original post

I have a major problem since updating to R1GB001 on my Orange phone using the SEUS. When the fade is used at any time, pressing a button (which would normally bring fade the screen back to full brightness) doesn't work, it just stays dark and I can hardly read the text on the screen. I've also noticed that when the fade should be happening, it doesn't any more, it just goes straight from bright to dark.

I can go to options and change the brightness from 80% back to 100% and that works fine but as soon as it tries to fade, it screws up again :/

What can I do?

Flash it again using SEUS. Because of the nature of these flashing services you can run into problems from time to time. If another flash does not fix it then you'll have to take it to a Sony Ericsson Service Center and let them take a look at it.
