@Ihe: We are pleased to confer on you the position of Chief inspector (Wole wolw) of this thread.

Another sneaker is Demmy. He shows up, throws in one or two posts for good measure and then takes off for ages.

Where is my girlfriend, tilly? I think I will call her jare?

Well. Can't use MTN cos they are the enemy. Using glo doesn't really cost me much or lets just say i hardly feel it cos am on a postpaid package, so the bills are deducted from my salary even before i get paid. Its convenient

From my experience, there are no permanent enemies in naija's GSM sector; only permanent interests. I have had to eat my words a couple of times before I learnt that

Now we've got a glo spy on our forum, would be nice though to have one each from MTN, Vmobile and Mtel.

Hey @ all the newbies.
I still have very poor service from glo in my office, voice and gprs but I have being going to Abeokuta a fair bit lately and there is pretty much unbroken service all the way. I'll wager I could browse on top of olumo rock.
Econet still strikes me as being a poor cousin to the other networks. Well except Mtel I guess. I still use my econet line as an one of my alternates.

What do you guys think, is it still necessary to carry one gsm and one pto mobile phone. I ask only with regard to interconnection. It is quite tedious for me having to carry three.

The question I would like to puy forward is, Would GSM reps here be able to handle the kind of intensive drilling we dole out?

For example, while Glo is my favourite network for obvious reasons, I can still be very critical when they mess up. And they tend to do that rather often

I have been in that dilema myself. In my case, the issue is strictly with regards internet access, as I am a roaming office.

I have my eyes on Starcoms mobile. I think I still do. Glo is making betwwen 20 and 30+ off me monthly on GPRS alone. If I go CDMA, max I'll pay is N15k per month.

But no Nokia 9500 on Starcomms and that is my mobile office. I dont fancy lugging my laptop around at all.

Unless Glo further drops glodirect tariffs, I may yet drop my SIM for a Starcomms mobile.

I am not certain yet, but I'll work things out.
