@Tervel and Prom1
I am also very tired of waiting for the new FW but can you really sue a cellphone company for having bugs in their FW?
i mean it is impossible no matter how much beta testing is done to come out with a flawless device won't you think?
same in any industry.
edit: @tervel - to me there is a difference between both statements (no "I" in the first one) anyways it is a subtle one and if you can't seeit, it does not matter. I was just expressing my regrets about the flaming caused not so much by your statements but mainly by the ones from dupet and bobbins.

You cannot sue a cellphone company for having buggy firmware. You need to carefully READ my post, not selectively "skim" like kids selectively listen to their parents - no insult intended just something my kids do to me daily hehe. However, you CAN sue a cellphone company that continues to either ignore, untimely releases of firmware updates - IF YOU can prove updates are untimely, not effective in fixing bug fixes or even not fixing several (especially those that are in line with what is advertised - like the HPM-82 being a compatible) then you will have a case. Heck you can sue a provider for mass breaching of contracts. Selling a product to a consumer on a mass production - that doesn't perform as advertised nor compatible with accessories advertised as compatible - is false advertisement. Now a company CAN try to elleviate issues unforseen, thats why I mentioned that you need to check other SE products and how consistently their firmwares are updated compared to the K850i before even beginning to tabulate a case to a lawyer.

My question is how many of this bugs are really documented bugs and by that i mean bugs that affect 100% of the handsets all the time, i can hardly think of any. The bugs seem to appear on certain handsets within certain FWs and intermitently.
SE limited warranty can then be claimed if it is proven that you have a defective device and i think that is how SE will handle the different cases since no single bug is on 100% of their devices.
I think there are huge differences between devices depending not only on the FW they are running but the batch they were made in and the origin.
Plus where does SE promises its customers to deliver new FW updates? is it oficially written somewhere so that we can use it on our favor? AFAIK i don't think so. SE does it because they "somewhat" care about customer satisfaction, their image and their market share. You cannot demand updates based on how often they update other product either since obviously some are less buggy than others, and some updates are not necessarily bug fixers but improvents in performance.
would an internet thread like this one count as prove of oficial bugs in a device? my point is if let's say 10 ppl have the zoom/volume bug then SE limited warranty would come into play and SE will replace those phones and be done with it.
I think SE got their arses covered.
Anyway back into the topic of the new FW. i have information that this new FW will have Mobile TV support, the app will be under the media manager menu like it has been spotted somewhere. (nice touch isn't it?)
I am also keeping my fingers crossed that it will have some camera functions from the recently released phones such as facefinder from the C series or point to focus (touch focus) from the G series. what do you think?

Digg users don't want to read 210 pages of bitching and drivel.

sueing people etc never did squat.... people who do that are just the modern day equivalent of trade unions - stifling progress and costing billions.
If the device was really buggy then they'd lose the reputation and so the company would lose value- so it's not in their interest.
The phone has a couple of issues that'll be fixed soon, they say, so they ain't ignoring it, they're getting on with it. Just not as fast as we'd like!
Lawsuits and the like just add to the cost of the phone and mean that features that they might have added are left off in case it doesn't work right and they get sued.
ie. saying that you'll start a lawsuit on them 'cos the GrEq doesn't work right.. they can just remove it - if it ain't there, it can't not work!

This is now a joke... It seems obvious that SE are not interested in sorting out the A200 series handsets; it would have been soo much better if they had stuck to the tried and tested A100 plaform until A200 was mature enough...
I'm having my phone replaced (cos' I broke it), then it's going on eBay and I'm getting a N81 instead, then when my contract is up, I'll be getting the Nokia N96...
Not seen anything from MWC from SE that inspires me...

Just went off the phone with SE customer(we don't)care center and they told me that the firmware are to be out this week and that they hadn't heard of any delays and yadayada blablablaaa. So we will see.
I also tried to pull some info abut new features but i got brickwalled.
Cheerio!

I'm sure why but of the handful of threads I regularly visit on here this one is the only one that so amazingly negative about

. I own a K850. I'm not impressed with the firmware but isn't it obvious that they've been spending a lot of time and money on the development and launch of the X1 and the other new phones? I can see exactly why this firmware has been delayed and that's because the X1 is a superb piece of design and engineering on it's own. I think that phone is one of the best I've ever seen. If sex had brushed metal buttons and a touch screeen.... Anyway, to me it is clear that the K850 was a stop gap between the old SE and the new SE. I'm sorry but in all industries and all companies they'll occasionally throw you a lemon. It happens and it is the necessary evil in progression. Unfortunately for us, we bought it.
I'm sure

will release the firmware and I'm certain it won't be long away. Be patient. Stop moaning. Get laid. We all know the problems, we're all a little disappointed, but at the end of the day it's a f...... phone.
