Mrao...Congrats man & all the best...nice name Anushri...do post the new name.
Thuggie...Why the hell does J&K not support roaming 4 BPL ??? Not even 4 airtrel prepaid & when I tried getting a local sim, I was informed abt a 5 day verification crap before I can use it.
My P900 was only as a cam the last 10 days & a bad cam i.e...imagine being without network & GPRS 4 10 DAYS.
But the bueaty of the place & the ( YIN ) people madeup 4 it...really regreted not taking a decent cam yet ve abt 2000 (low quality) pics.

Ofcouse I skiied...over 2 hrs 4 3 days...lost the count I fell...1s in the water...but as I was good at skating I got the hang of it prity soon...the only problem was breaking...U ve 2 spread Ur heels so that the front of the skies come together, 4got what its called...couldnt manage the high speed braking by skidding sideways to a halt. Tried that a few times...last being the time I fell in the Ice water.
Overall this was my best trip & m planning to go back in August with a P990 & a Cell1 simcard

@has,glad to know that u enjoyed ur trip and had a nice cold nature's bath and u made a big mistake by not taking a digicam or atleast a 2mpx .even today i regret not taking my camera along with me when i went for a ride in shikara back in 2000(2 days before kargil war).

with airtel connection,it almost like not having a mobile phone.its good only for calling local airtel nos.
how was the experience at the airport??

pls post some pictures of the mughal garden and shikara ride.

Edit:Bpl,tata, reliance telcom etc are not heard of in J&K.BSNL provides their lousy gprs(mostly down acc my friends)yup for getting a prepaid card thru airtel,u have to fill forms etc and then they verify the details and then personally come to ur home after 5 days to give u the sim.isnt that royal treatment enough??and yes...all the mobile phone calls made here are tap+ped

guys, can someone tell me what all audio and video formats can a vcd/dvd player read?which format MPEG 1 or MPEG 2 works for a vcd player?

@has,the dal lake looks great but if someone falls in it,the 15feet long tentacle like leaves of the plant u see wrap around even around any good swimmer trapping him.govt is trying its best to remove the thing...even paying research institutes to come up with some biological material which can destroy the plant compleatly without harming the lake.i have heard story of a senior govt official's family lost to that plant. also the lake is very rich in microorganisms...it will cause an attack of diarrhoea to even superman.

@ordinary vcd players can handle only mpeg1. Those with svcd capability can play mpeg2 as well.
Dvd players handle both the mpeg's. Some new ones even play mp4 and divx

edit:oops blu is right. Confused mpeg2 with svcd
