Sony never released a cord alone accessories, and this is from DX-Box, given a non official accessory.

Hi All, since my first post last week I have done the deed and collected Z1 as trade up from S3 (long time Samsung user) and wanted to give some feedback.
Picked it up last Saturday from O2 along with the pre-order offer QX10 lens and once fired up after charging I admit to being disappointed with the screen quality mainly surrounding the yellowish hue when looking at white background (like in settings menu) also later on the screen had locked out with black display for no apparent reason (although very very faint red glow when you looked really close as if being powered on?) did a reset and early next morning it did it again, got it boxed back up and went back to O2.
Main reason I stick with them apart from signal is their customer service and they didnt disappoint when I asked for another one (to be fair they didnt have much choice but thats not the point, they were more than happy to do it, no quibble!) I had no hesitation in asking for another Z1 even after these faults as I really really liked it and even in that short space of time enjoyed the change from Sammy and hoped that no.2 would be fine ...........and I'm pleased to report it is!!!!!:)
This phone is awesome I absolutely love it, colours way better than S more accurate imho and playing back HD source vid....well its freakin excellent (Smurfs demo!!)....its also quicker than my old Scooby Impreza!!!haha....blazingly fast no lag flickin between internet, youtube, apps etc.
Regarding the screen (and my own experience) there is obviously issues with Sony's QC and a lot of people will miss out experiencing this and play safe to stick with Sam's & Apple which is a shame because if you do have a 'good one' then there isnt anything else (for me) to touch it for a whole experience of build quality, performance and visuals and can only see it getting better with future updates.
Just for information my first faulty Z1 had serial number BH903**** and this replacement BH908**** I'd read on another site that there were faulty batches linked with serial numbers, I have no idea if this is correct but just thought I'd share........I'm currently looking for good screen protector now as I dont want to hide all that black shiny loveliness in a leather wallet!!
I'll get some pics posted when I can, taken a few quick daylight snaps so far and really impressed, cheers

This was discussed awhile back. This site shows you an official SONY cord from the DK30 dock (this is the dock for the Z Ultra). Yes, the same cord can be used to charge the Z1, but DX-box won't send you the official cord. You will get the chinese generic brand. I haven't ordered to know for sure, but I am 99.9% sure based on the price they sell it for and many other uses who have complained that they were sent a product that was NOT pictured and/or described on the website. In addition, they are terrible at responding to customer inquiry and basically ignore you (based on what people have said). I don't trust them
as MNX says, sony doesn't even sell the cord by itself, so they are taking it from the docks. I find it VERY unlikely they would waste docks that sell for $50-60USD, to sell just the cables for $17 USD.
If someone would like to take the chance and see if you get the sony one, please report back!
@deltarick - congrats! glad you stuck with it and got a good one. shame that you had a faulty one but hey, it happens with the best of them. glad you are enjoying it now though! does your new unit not have the yellow tint problem? i don't see this as a real problem because it can be corrected with software correction.
I'm very curious to see the difference in screen (if there is a difference at all) as i have a BH902 serial.. While I am perfectly happy with my screen, if it SHOULD be better, then I want what I paid for.

Thanks moogoo, the new one doesnt have any yellowing whereas the first one had like a patch which appeared when you tilted it the slightest bit off dead centre viewing, it didnt cover the whole screen more like 2/3rds?......the new one just doesnt do that, when you go off straight ahead viewing it just starts losing the full on contrast impact as I would expect.
I'm only ever looking at my phone full on (ok not quite so when trying to turn the alarm off!) and the whole side on viewing angle stuff doesnt bother me but seems to get a lot of internet attention.
If I remember correctly that site I saw this thing about serial numbers reckoned BH902****'s along with 908**** were the good one's but how accurate it is who knows, sounds like you're happy with yours? Just read today that possible new firmware heading out very soon 14.1.G.2.257......if true wonder what this will bring??!

@deltarick - oh i see. i definitely don't have such a big yellow patch but there is a very slight warm color temp which i correct with a software adjuster. you don't even notice it really until you've made the adjustment.
where did you hear about the update coming? xperiablog reported that update was in the process of being certified a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything since. my guess is it will bring more bug fixes mostly and maybe battery/screen optimizations. i don't think it will bring any camera changes yet. but i am just guessing
