LOL, Kryptik,
to quote that Johan van der Walt character, ripping off Boksburg stereotypes on Jeremy Mansfield's LOL tv show," Dis n' f@kkn metaphor!"
I know you don't get mesmerised by the Unomabonakude (tv)too much though,so maybe you haven't seen all the antics. Anyway, did you ever contemplate selling the 6600 and 6820 and use the moola from both of these towards a coveted P910i?

It nearly went beyond contemplation today... Had to handcuff myself to the steering wheel while fighting the urge to disappoint a teenaged wap-newbie... It's lucky it's his birthday today, else i'd've handed him a 8210 and wished him luck... btw, i never knew that was the isiXhosa name for the telly... This message was posted from a Nokia

LOL@the wanqsta: In all my 27 years on this earth I've never heard anyone use the word Unomabonakude to describe a television.

LOL brix27,
I was waiting for your input on that one..
Yeah,unoma-bona-kude,it was drummed into us by my dear old isiXhosa lecturer, who insisted this was the original name for it,despite 'i-tv' et al being far more heard in colloqial banter...but hey,the Wanqsta stands to be corrected...I'm only going on dodgy memory...

@ Brix, i'd venture to say there are words in "die taal" none of us have ever heard before. I spent a few days in Tabankulu once, deep in the old Transkei.

Even though i'm fairly proficient in isiXhosa i was totally lost! I had a fellow "struggle-brother" as company, and he of the Xhosa persuasion was nearly as lost as i was.

There seems to be a noticeable difference between the language spoken in urban areas vs that in rural areas.

@the wanqsta: I think you need to ask for a refund from the lecturer.

Way off topic: The other night me and girlfriend were talking and she was remniscing about the rural Eastern Cape where she had lived for great part of her life. I'm thinking of making a turn around there in December en route to Moz.

Have to agree with the Krypsta. isiXhosa is very complex but at the same time it's sounds beautiful. When I tell people in Cape Town we speak another version of isiXhosa they look at me funny.

Back on topic: Anyone heard or seen a cellphone maker called Alphacell? Was browsing Vodacom's website and came across this brand.

Yep Tahir...they've slashed the prices...saw it today in Business Report. On average I send one MMS a week and I'm not on MTN.

Any news on upcoming models we're likely to get from Vodacom? I'm really considering replacing my precious as she's become erratic of late- must be a sign of sinility.
