I'm sorry, Dogmann, but i have this mental picture of you in my head.

I see a scrooge like figure, hunched over a keyboard in a darkened room, lit by a single candle. Dusty spiderwebs enhance the corners of shelves, and flickering shadows cast upon dingy walls.

I can imagine a fairly unhappy childhood. Shortage of toys, perhaps?

You nevr come across as a happy person in your posts.
You have an anger that appears solidly aimed at SE, and its hopefull followers.

I imagine there are other fora where you do similar things.

It's just my imagination, so dont take it personally. I'm just a sad old git, who happens to still have hope for SE, and enjoy gadgets in general.

Feel free to respond as you will. Its only words.

2Astral1,
Thats rude. However, i dont see anything wrong in what Dogman writes. He hasnt accused anyone of anything, neither has he claimed for something, which he hasnt tried(well so far i have seen in his posts).
He's being logical(negativity should be considered as well) and ofcourse every OS must have bugs, its not possible for any software to not have any bugs.

Ofcourse, sometimes Dogman is wrong as well, but its not like he offended people first.

Btw, a forum must have positivity and negativity, and thats why you have a discussion. But, like all discussions, its not necessary to consider everything. What you like most, go for it, and it will be best for you.

SO, i think its not fair in your part to blame.

@Astar1

Well sorry to disturb your wonderfully well thought out picture but i was spoilt as a child and am happy to say wanted for nothing.

But since 15 when i first started working i have bought and paid for all my own toys, clothes cars, alcohol or anything else i wanted to indulge myself in.

At 48 i am wracked with pain due to a serious back condition and on strong opiate med's so maybe not as cheerful as i could be. But I'm a realist not a fantasist i have supported bought and owned more Ericsson and SE devices up until 2006 than most here. I spent lots of my own money exhibiting at the Mobile Phone Show and at two Mobile Data shows and was a full member of the Mobile Data Association all whilst promoting Ericsson data solutions no other company's products where good enough IMO.

So if i seem a little disappointed in what a company i once had so much faith in has become and how they dared see fit to treat their loyal users well you could be right. But unlike the fantasists the things i saw going wrong and not being addressed have now caused SE a lot of trouble.

So rather than congratulating SE on a dropping market share and profits and continuing to deliver buggy unfinished phones. I choose to call SE to task for their failings in the weird concept they might actually improve well we can but hope. Because if they don't and soon they just won't be a major player any longer and wishful thinking and a handful of SE fans won't save them either and those are the simple facts of reality.

Hi Marc
My other / better! half has a severe back / neck condition that requires her to be on opiates 24/7 (and bless her she never complains) so I sympathise totally a bad back is NOT at all funny.

Regards you views on and their attitude to customers and failing to help themselves by ensuring they release good, well built products (that out shine their competitors offerings as they once did) within realistic time frames I agree with you 100%.

There is a real chance the X1 will be "old news" by the time it even get on the shelves of the "phone junkies" suppliers let alone the network operators. Sony Ericsson are quite simply in a hole of their own making, with the likes of Samsung and LG releasing really nice well built units on a regular basis, plus Nokia have some nice trick stuff in the pipeline (I am reliably informed) As for what happened to the P series! I really think we may have seen the last of them for quite a while.

I follow your posts with interest. A lot of times I don't agree with what you say. But having said that, I must add that you gained my full respect for the sincere and high level answer to Astral1.
I haven't seen an apology from Astral1.

It's been ages since I've posted here. Since my W800i died (those were the days ...), I had a Z530 (crap) and I'm now using a Chinese IPhone clone (even more crap).

My next phone will be a WM touchscreen phone. The rivals are the HTC diamond, the Samsung Omnia and the SE XPERIA X1.

I think pricing will be very important for the X1. If SE can sell it 75 - 100€ cheaper than te Diamond or the Omnia it will be a succes.

SE claims the X1 is aimed at the home market, not the business market. for the home market, pricing is even more important.

Can anyone convince me to buy the X1 over the Omnia or Diamond?

If u need keyboard input then X1 of course is better than the other 2. The keyboard does make the X1 bulky then the other 2 phones as well. I am using a Omnia 8GB version at the moment and I am very happy with that. I used a o2 XDA Orbit 2 before switching over.

I was all set on buying the X1 when I first saw the press release. Was extremely impressed with almost everything about it. Since then, I can't help but feel the Touch Pro is the better option. It has a much better keyboard, a less problematic yet still useful resolution, is cheaper and unlike the X1 has actually been released!

This coupled with the fact that the Touch Pro will have a lot more frequent updates from HTC than the X1 will to fix bugs/enhance performance.

The X1 does have its merits but with its first foray into the already muddy waters of WinMo, I'm not convinced it has what it takes to deliver something that works!

I'll doubt that For a while I felt I was updating my p990i more frequently than my pc's Antivirus-programs
