I set up email on a a D500 for a colleague the other day, and found that despite the OpenWave browser it's not as bad for surfing as other Samsungs i've used.

I can understand their popularity...

@786KBR: How expensive is the M4410? @All: I made it out of there in one piece...the dj was playing some of the funkiest hiphop beats. Now I'm having trouble getting out of this bed. Next time you guys are in Slaapstad just drop me a line. This message was posted from a K700i

@brix, not sure bout the actuall price but the cheapest contract its available on for free is the talk 500! So id say maybe R1000+ more than a 6680! but I could be mistaken... (LG, think it will drop quickly)

@786KBR: Can't believe it will cost more than the 6680. Should make a couple of calls tomorrow.

Where'd you go clubbing, Brix? (considering an LG as a replacement for your baby?) This message was posted from a Nokia

@Kryptik: After seeing the ad on tv three times last night, I headed over to gsmarena.com...checked out the specs and it looked attractive. It's under consideration as my next phone depending on price and user feedback.
Usually go clubbing on Long Street, it's got a good variety of clubs...whether you're into hiphop (like me),Rhythm and Bullshit, house music, trashy 80s music or just some laidback jazz you'll find it on Cape Town's party strip.
Last night I went to a club called "Joburg".

@ Brix:

LG M4410 Advanced Features:
Java : 2.0
MIDI : 40 Poly (MP3 Ringtone)
Built-in Game : 1
Image Capture : Yes
Video Playback : x
Voice Memo : Yes
Voice Dial : x
Camera Support : Yes (1.3M CMOS, Flash)
MP3 : Yes

So from this I'm deducing that there is no video and voice dialing support. Also... one game

Just went back on www.gsmarena.com and yes it does have video playback... Hopefully it supports both 3gp and mp4.

The LG M4410 video issue: a quick search or two:
1.gsmarena.com stipulate that it has,
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_m4410-reviews-1193.php

2.phoneyworld also stipulates that it has,
http://www.phoneyworld.com/handsets/specs.aspx?phone=lg_m4410

3.mobile-review's very comprehensive review, complete with loads of photos, including displays etc. does not make any mention of the video recording facility; there are examples of photos taken with the camera. The only mention I could find was that it is impossible to send video or voice tags via Bluetooth. This obviously does not say if it is downloaded videos or video recordings.

4.The LG SA site also does not mention anything about video, unless I missed it.However, there were a few spelling and grammatical errors,so who knows...

So it doesn't record video. My primary concern is whether I'll be able to download porn and music videos...which mostly come in 3gp. Will check out mobile-review for some pointers.
