Does it have EDGE ? And why so a slow processor ? SE proudly announced they are the first to bring the new symbian 9.1 to the market. Now let's see if they'll keep their promiss. If they duplicate the first P-series release time, then they may be last (or first from the bottom) And why only the old wifi standard in a 'flagship' model ? You chaps also realize - there isn't any software for it :-(

> It's because they want to keep the promise, the phone was not launched yet. UIQ 3.0 runs on top of Synbian 9.1 and it's still buggy.

> Yes, but we also know that many people is waiting for the SDKs to start developing, and that the Symbian Signed will bring a lot of quality to the software releases. Also, the new 3D graphics accelerator and audio DSPs will make the new 3D games fly!

I think the phone looks great, with some good specs, but im not sure about that key board, ive had the P800, and just got the P910i recently. there is not enough screen, minimizing the visual spectrum.
any other thoughts?

Like Big Feet I am looking forward to using a Smartphone that works as a phone first and PDA second i.e the P990. Having used a NOK 9500 and Treo and JasJar I do miss my old P910 and reliability.

>Wrong here ... Nokia N91 was announced roughly 2 months before the P990i (not rumors yet official annoucements). They too have many different working models that are showcasing the new Symbian OS 9.1a albiet with Series60. I'm skipping it sideways like the plague; yet they did announce first and its possible theirs will come to market just before SE's.

Because it's enough. Because it spends less battery. Because it has a wider range. Because it's the most common standard today.
>>Hmm not sure if it truely uses less battery, but your wrong on wider range. 802.11g (i as well that is using the g standard) gives you far greater range. The b standard may be a common standard but its arguable that is used more than the g standard. I wish SE did include the G as its compatible to fall back onto b.

I know that a lot of people with Apple Airport Express (802.11b and g compatible) find that the range is better (and the signal more reliable) using b rather than g.

Do we know what resolution the video recording function will support? Hopyfully it will be better than the P900/910 and K750.
