i already did a comparisson between version 2.1 and 2.2, and 2.2 sucks, the pics get blurred, the best driver of all is the 2.4, it has no noise at all

@jleosza

i agree with you... hybrid 2.4 is the best since it produces less noise than the others

try it peeps and see for yourself.

thanks!

Just installed 2.4 - did some preliminary tests - colour good, noise good, but it's nighttime now - will test again in the morning

@ Max,

Sorry,my bad Didn't mean to infer anything at all, it just occured to me that how would they know? I forgot that of course they would be able to look at the phone's insides - I was getting mixed up with thinking it was a completely dead motherboard, in which case they wouldn't have known.

That's okay, no probs dude...........the only sorrow I'm feeling now is having to live without my most beloved possession. I got a Panasonic GD92 as a standby till the fone is back, time to browse to some panasonic forums now

Anyway, back to the topic, looking fwd to some tests from ur side. And also try to get some night time snaps in the following way:

1> Without nightmode, without flash
2> With nightmode, without flash,
3> With night mode, with flash.

so that we can compare the noise levels in darkness

Please go back to the start of the thread and read, since all your questions are answered in previous posts.

I'm not meaning to be unhelpful, but if you read the thread like everyone else you would
1. become quite informed about this topic,
2. Have answers to all your questions above, all of which have been asked several time before.
3. Not be taking up people's time or forum space.

I tested the 2.4 vs the 4.5 R1BC modified and the conclusion I came to was that the 2.4 snap pictures faster, the result is better sharpness because it minimizes the chance of your hand / object moving causing blurryness. The 2.4 also does not suffer from the over-exposure of the 2.1 which caused the sky to wash out in out door photos. The 2.4 however generally produced a colder picture. The modified 4.5's had warmer colours that were generally more vibrant. This only downside to the 2.4 is nothing that some photoshop cannot fix and I'm only being pickey by pointing this out. I did not notice any decrease in overall noise like some people pointed, in fact I found that the modified 4.5 driver had a little bit less noise then the 2.4 but the result was to inconsistent to make a firm determination. It appeared that noise patterns in pictures changed from shot to shot even in the same position and lighting.

IMO, I think aksd has reached the limit with these 2.4 and appauld him on his efforts. This driver is as close to perfect as I believe we are going to get at this point I believe our hardware is the limiting factor. The 2.4 will stay in my camera for now.
