Hi Jah, thanks for the quick reply..
I'm on VF.. Most messages I get are from a colleague on Orange, which don't come through...
I do get some from another guy, but network unknown.. (07849)
As I said.. this "bug" happened on both handsets..

Speaking of bugs; I noticed that (FO) eventhough l scroll to the very bottom with the scroll bar on the right side of the screen, in some applications I have to use the jog dial to scroll down even more. Some parts are not seen if I just use the scroll button.
Forexample!
when reading the help topics of the P990. Especially long texts which need scrolling down
or when viewing word files

When you lock the keypad in FC, and then open the flip and then close it again, the softkey labels do not appear on the FC screen. It doesn't really affect anything because you would have to unlock the screen to press a button, but it is just an aesthetic bug.
Also, when you access the Task Manager in FC by holding down the "More" button, the "More" label remains highlighted when you exit the Task Manager and return to the standby screen. Again, not a serious problem, but annoying visually.
Sorry if these were mentioned already.

Just an update to my SMS problem..
of those that don't come through properly, one is on Orange, another is O2..
I don't know the 07849 network, and even then, with number porting, it could be any one of them.

hi, i recently got my P990 on orange, and boy i hate the branding on it. Anyone got rid of the orange branding?
Probs iv encounterd are
1. Cant delete messages in FO mode without pressing the delete or 'c' key
2. Contacts crashes after adding birthdays to calender for 3 contacts.
3. Used wifi and green light sometimes flashes forever when i disconnect the Wlan.
4. No option to which resize a pic for MMS should be resized to like other SE Models.
5. Battery life is terrible. 3 days should be minimum not 1 with good use.

@dev667
try to un-install the Symbian Drivers from Add/Remove Program then re-boot and connect the P990 and let the PC re-install the drivers. i have found that these drivers can become corrupt if you add another device to your PC/laptop after installing PC Suite. If Symbian Drivers does not uninstall properly, uninstall PC SUite.

thx for the replies, though uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them solved nothing, i found that i could unplug the phone without crashing the system by disabling the USB controller (Sony Ericsson P990 Composite Device), could its' drivers be corrupt?
Update:
apparently, disabling the USB Controller doesn't always work, sometimes disabling it also crashes the computer.
