it's a common practice not to post "demo pics" of prototypes, as simple as that

larger sites are against the idea of reviewing so called prototypes

remember the k800i proto pics looked crap too?
i'm not worried

interesting to also see that half of these phones that people are demoing don't even work properly.. lol what has se been doing for the first half of this year?

it's a common practice not to post "demo pics" of prototypes (camera, check out all preview articles on dpreview imaging-resource etc), as simple as that., it is not fair for the company, neither is it fair for consumers who are going to make the buying decision.

anyway, im not worried because the pics were taken by shaky hands (shaky hands will make the best 10000$ dSLR pics look crap) and i remember the k800i so called proto pics were crap too.

lol, i think they were Chinese

Yeah, but still they are actually quite good. And the first K800 photos were crap. No doubt about it.

hey,if an optical image stabilization was included in k850,it would've put dslr's to shame

well, any leads to why k850 was intro'ed late..

I want talk about the design because it is a matter of taste.
But let's look at the phone specs. It is far away from competitors....
Come on SE. What is this? A small upgrade of K800 after so much waiting? Nothing special to shout for!!!
Won't compare it with N95 because there is no meaning of compaison (N95 is far richer in terms of specs).
Personally I would prefer the W960 instead of K850. But not sure untill I see it in real action.

background: how many of those hsdpa candybar prototypes passing around between operators earlier this year actually had a working camera? there's a reason why some people (like me) avoided calling them sofia or k850 (if they really are the same)

so, after this announcement, it's fair to say that it was a good one.

judging from pictures (closely watching the phones over a 17inch monitor) i need some sort of confirmation. especially from people who held/holding/saw the models.

for K850:
1-cam is activated by pressing the on button next to the shutter button
2-a slider key switches between cam/vid/media player
3-the circle around the cam, glows whenever cam is activated
4-circle glows (green or Blue) correspondingly
5-QVGA 3fps vid capability
6-tiny rubber made buttons beneath screen
(those were my judgement from picture viewing)

now some questions:
1-did someone mention PDF,office app ?
2-TV out ?
3-GoForce nvidia graphic chip?
4-does the blue model, have a brushed metal on the back side?
5-walkman 3.0?
6-accelerometer, ok we know that, but this means Java Platform 8 ?
7-usability and friendliness of that squarish Dpad?

so Xumdeo? thecoolsha? PeterKay ? can you please, answer us. you won't get sued now

no TV out, the TV icon is only like a folder, like podcasts
it might have to do with a deal with some other company(s), i will not comment further, things are too sketchy

doc editor only on W960 (UIQ)

peace out here, i must get back to work... real work
