While downloading, if the connection is broken or the PC freezes, just restart the update program. There is some kind of download manager in the program which means the download will continue from the last successfully downloaded file. You don't start from the beginning. For example, if the connection was broken at 67%, the next time SEUS may start downloading from 49% and keep going.
