Cool photos, now I have my w995 and it takes terrible shots, especially of buildings and landscapes. I get the purple fringing always and its so annoying, my old w810i was an awesome piece of work. Does the new software update sort out the camera issues?

Like Luhccas-C905 says, it's a hardware fault but it's suppressable to a certain extent. First you have to determine whether it is blue fringing or the actual purple fringing. If it's really purple then your photo is probably overexposed, and you can rid of it by lowering your EV. Blue fringing though is trickier and I haven't found a work around but it is less intrusive than its purple counterpart since the blue wavelength is less than purple. Whatever it is, control your EV so that you get the right exposure which would bring out enough colours, contrast and saturation to drown the fringing. My last photo clearly has blue fringing on the score manuscript in front of the lady, but I don't think it qualifies as a bad photo. The photo below has fringing on the fluorescent lamps, but your eyes will be fixated more on the overall colours

Thank you, yeah I have been using the EV, such a pain though, the W810i never had these problems, such a great little camera phone. Maybe I will try and see if I can get a hack c905 driver, I have seen one going around that seems to fix, I will do a search here and maybe get around the problem slightly. The w995 is a fantastic phone but the camera has really let me down which is a pity.
