I don't wanna kill your political enthousiasm but I've an issue with my P990i. Hopefully someone will be able to help me.
Could you please tell me how to configure the phone to browse the internet via Wifi and with Telenet settings ?
I've a wifi connection home, from Telenet, and would like to use it with my P990i but after several attempts I can't get it work.
I've entered all the info like username, password... etc but with no results. I must have missed something.
So, can anybody explain to me in details the whole procedure from A to Z to follow for using the Wifi with Telenet on the P990i ?
Also, how to use the wifi with open connection when on street or anywhere else ?

I don't know if this can be called "router" but that's the original installed by the Telenet technician : a D-Link Access Point DWL-2000AP+.
On the box it's written "802.11g/2.4GHZ Wireless Access Point.
I'm pretty sure wifi should work on my P990i, it's just that I'm missing some important detail during the configuration... and I don't know which one.

It seems that the DWL-2000AP+ emits only in G. While beeing with Telenet, I'm not familiar with their wifi solutions they offer but ask if you can change to a router/access point that supports B and G.
Telenet has a bad habbid to put hubs and inferior hardware until it finally works, thanks to them I got two hubs for free that wasn't needed on my network

You might be right Jim, thanks for bringing that detail up to my attention. I've read the P990i guide and indeed it's only compatible with the 802.11b. (page 175 of the French version)
I took the box of the router to see what's on about the b and the g and according the manual, the g provides a 8X faster speed than the b. Did Telenet wrong to choose for the g instead of the b ? I don't know.
What I know for sure is that I will not go for a lower home wifi connection just to make it work on my P990i.

According to the specs on the D-Link site, the DWL-2000AP+ is compatible with 802.11b (11Mbps) as well as the 802.11g (54 Mbps).
So you should not have a problem connecting your P990. Unless you programmed the DWL to only communicate in 802.11g (if it is possible).

is your connection at home with a router so more things can be hooked up to it? or standard connection, if so, you could be limited to 2 devices because of your subscribtion.
also the only thing you need to fill in in the settings is telenet users name and password, NOTHING else.

While B is inferior in speed it's superior in range and stability of signal, I also see that on my linksys router with pre-MIMO technology: on the third floor I use B for a steady signal and second/first floor I use G.
@michka: from what I understand it's able to connect to other hardware that use B/G (making bridges) but transmit only in G.
@bart: nope no phone at all, still with my K750i and won't change it for a long time.

Anyway, I never saw any g system not being backward compatible with b.
