@Gezza

I should apologise to you, I was being sarcastic in my post to boto43, and it’s not a trait foreigners pick up on a lot for some reason

@scotsboyuk No problem from my side. Eastern/Central Europeans tend to do/feel like you mentioned. This message was posted from a WAP device

Europeans, who live in the 'middle' of Europe i.e. below Scandinavia and above the Mediterranean, tend to have rather unhealthy lifestyles.

No smoking in Norway since today. Is it ok or governmant in this country violate someone rights? The same prohibition is in Ireland. No smoking for all EU member countries?

@boto:

Tricky one, that. In one way, I'd be inclined to agree. I gave up smoking two months ago (still not had any cigs yet!! ) and it would help reformed smokers going into pubs etc. not seeing everyone else lighting up.

However, it does infringe people's human rights with the choice whether to smoke or not.

Then again..... what about the human rights of the non-smokers forced to breathe in second-hand smoke?

I wonder if there's a right answer to this one, both for and against camps have good points.

@Reformed smoker,dont go into a pub.You won't see lightning of cigarettes.

I smoke only a little and not every day.I cross my fingers to you not to light a cigarette any more.I know that's very very hard.Smoking is really very unhealthy my heart can confirm it.

I'm not in favour of completely banning smoking in public places, but I do think that there is a need for better regulation. I don't see why there can't be separate sections in pubs and restaurants for smokers and non-smokers, and most restaurants already operate on this principle.

They do, however there is no separate non smoking ROOM in most restaurants.... and it's no good sitting in the 'non smoking section' if the neighbouring tabel is in the smoking section.

however it's not so much about the rights of clients visiting the place, as it is about the rights of the EMPLOYEES who are legally entitled to a smoke-free working environment......

they will do it here too.... just that the hospitality branch has gotten a few years longer to get used to the idea
