@darky - that's pretty expensive. I heard that the w950 was to be priced a little lower than the P990. Anyways, it's still not officially available here in Dubai, though i played one for a while.

expansys prices by no way represent the gulf's prices.

They're always expensive.

This is crazy. Seems that Bush doesn't like the Middle East having their own media (because we all know how the US controlls the US through media), so this was published in the British Daily Mirror. Funny thing is, the UK is discussing helping the US to bomb Al-Jazeera stations. I was like WTF!

"Britain Warns Media Over Al-Jazeera Report

Britain's attorney general, Lord Goldsmith, has threatened to prosecute any member of the news media under Section 5 of the Official Secrets Act if it reveals further contents of a document allegedly sent from the No. 10 Downing St. office/residence of Prime Minister Tony Blair and leaked to the London Daily Mirror The document purportedly discussed plans by President Bush to bomb the headquarters of the Arab news channel al-Jazeera in Doha, the capital of Qatar last year. A report concerning the document was front-paged Tuesday in the newspaper. Its publisher, Richard Wallace, responded to the government threat Tuesday night, saying: "We made No 10 fully aware of the intention to publish and were given 'no comment' officially or unofficially. Suddenly 24 hours later we are threatened under Section 5." The Mirror said that the memo "turned up" at the office of a former Labor member of Parliament. (British newspapers reported today (Wednesday) that last week Leo O'Connor, a former researcher in the office, was charged with receiving a secret document in violation of the Secrets Act from David Keogh, a former official of the Foreign Office, who was also charged.) Meanwhile, the White House called the reports "outlandish." However, several British reports have observed that al-Jazeera's offices in Iraq and Afghanistan have indeed been hit by U.S. bombs, although the U.S. military has always denied that the attacks were intentional. In a statement, the Arab network said that if the published documents turn out to be true, they "would cast serious doubts in regard to the U.S. administration's version of previous incidents involving Al-Jazeera's journalists and offices." Late today, Aidan White, general secretary of the International Federation of Journalists, which had previously demanded a full investigation of the attack on the al-Jazeera Baghdad office in which a cameraman was killed, said: "The evidence is stacking up to suggest that the U.S. decided to take out al-Jazeera in Baghdad, as a warning not only to them but to other media about their coverage. If true, it is an absolute scandal that the U.S. administration can regard the staff of al-Jazeera as a bunch of terrorists and a legitimate target." "

The season is busy as usual apart from my expectation that work will slow down a bit due to Ramadan - it's otherwise currently. Wasn't able to catch up much on my phone. Nonetheless i noticed that most are quite. It may mean one thing the phone (inspite of the few downside) is doing its job well. Im enjoying my phone but of course has room for more improvement.

quick query. can we remove the operator logo? how?

@tan - afaik, there is no way of removing the operator logo in any handset. unless a hack thorugh the internal firmware, like with FAR manager, and what some people would do; create a theme that would hide the logo.

Thanks Skrue for the info. yeah i remember my friend use to hide the logo only with the K750i also.

Was reading the other sections and have surfed the Lonely Cat Games Profi mail ver 2.6 (port. UIQ 3 is now avaialble). As it is always quite cumbersome for me to synch my outlook emails via P990i sync i wonder if Profimail would serve me better. Wat do you think guys. i will be checking it out come saturday when i report back to office with ton of emails waiting for me to be read.

i dunno if its common when synch-ing with Outlook it takes ages. i was successful lat time synch-in my 1week email which aprox includes 350+ emails. But never had the same luch todate henc am looking for alternative. What you think guys ?

Im still waiting for Smartmovie as well.

Any freeware to read arabic sms? im not arab however at times it is best to have the text displayed in arabic atleast somebody can read it 4me - unlike the bunch of squares that is displayed that makes no sense at all. A background in Saudi it is always more than often messages from the operator are sent initially in native language.

seems everybody is busy in their own P990i. either happy or sorry with it...but one good thing we're still hanging on the device with optimistic thought that someday a better FW will resolve all the niggles. Waaa! we need more 3rd party applications!
