If it`s true that they will add some features that c902 includes and refresh a UI i can wait a month

But only when they will really change the new firmware for a better of course

The camera features will probably not come in this firmware version, but the next instead. The new menu like on W760, W980, and alike, should come in this one, though.

My question is how many of this bugs are really documented bugs and by that i mean bugs that affect 100% of the handsets all the time, i can hardly think of any. The bugs seem to appear on certain handsets within certain FWs and intermitently.
SE limited warranty can then be claimed if it is proven that you have a defective device and i think that is how SE will handle the different cases since no single bug is on 100% of their devices.
I think there are huge differences between devices depending not only on the FW they are running but the batch they were made in and the origin.
Plus where does SE promises its customers to deliver new FW updates? is it oficially written somewhere so that we can use it on our favor? AFAIK i don't think so. SE does it because they "somewhat" care about customer satisfaction, their image and their market share. You cannot demand updates based on how often they update other product either since obviously some are less buggy than others, and some updates are not necessarily bug fixers but improvents in performance.
would an internet thread like this one count as prove of oficial bugs in a device? my point is if let's say 10 ppl have the zoom/volume bug then SE limited warranty would come into play and SE will replace those phones and be done with it.
I think SE got their arses covered.
Anyway back into the topic of the new FW. i have information that this new FW will have Mobile TV support, the app will be under the media manager menu like it has been spotted somewhere. (nice touch isn't it?)
I am also keeping my fingers crossed that it will have some camera functions from the recently released phones such as facefinder from the C series or point to focus (touch focus) from the G series. what do you think?
Sure SE can take the "cop-out" route saying its voided warranty or limited warranty. Go back to my original post on this "Class Action Lawsuit" idea and you'll see in this thread alone there are roughly 50+ users on Esato with SE K850i's that have the SAME issues with music playback. I'm estimating here and I'm sure its a lot more, and other issues are higher. Of course for a class-action lawsuit to exist its gotta be THOUSANDS! And don't think its a crazy idea, because ppl didn't like 4hrs battery life on gen 3/4 iPods and that was VERY successful against Apple for imbedded batteries - at a time where 3hrs battery life for music playback was COMMON! Heck no lawsuit ever existed for battery life on Palm OS PDA's when they advertised music playback.

sueing people etc never did squat.... people who do that are just the modern day equivalent of trade unions - stifling progress and costing billions.
If the device was really buggy then they'd lose the reputation and so the company would lose value- so it's not in their interest.
The phone has a couple of issues that'll be fixed soon, they say, so they ain't ignoring it, they're getting on with it. Just not as fast as we'd like!
Lawsuits and the like just add to the cost of the phone and mean that features that they might have added are left off in case it doesn't work right and they get sued.
ie. saying that you'll start a lawsuit on them 'cos the GrEq doesn't work right.. they can just remove it - if it ain't there, it can't not work!
Oh really? Then look to the class actions that STOPPED bad business practices of significantly increasing prices to users ON CONTRACT for Sprint/Nextel. Look at the same for MMS charges on Verizon. Then also look to users on AT&T Blue ... which eventually lead to the Cingular Wireless to AT&T Wireless. Don't be so quick to relate to a union which is COMPLETELY different. I'm talking about hard facts; things that directly relate to the consumer. Remember so many reports of defective batteries on Nokia phones? That was another successful case; and users did NOT absorb ANY cost!
NO this will NOT increase prices to the user in any way; if the suit is successful; the provider absorbs the cost.
ALLL I'm saying folks is that DIGG will only show the already familiar community about issues with a phone forgotten in Sunday's press release. I'm giving an idea to help THOSE OF YOU that OWN the K850i a chance to push SE into getting something done to ALE the issues you're facing thats all. I'm seeing too many complaints on 100+ pages of this thread and its concerning me. Don't shoot down an idea without at least thinking it through & considering if it has merritt, pls.

And what's those menus like? How do they differ from the K850 menu?
Just curious

he is referring to the new menu icons..... if you look at the w760i, they now have 'reflections'........ hard to explain, but you can see it your self!

Save your money. 038 and 039 and generally just operator specific, and if anything are worse than 037. Hang in there as a new firmware is supposidly imminent.

I should get the US model shipped this week, lets hope and see if there is an update to coincide with the US release and what firmware these versions carry also.
I think there will be some fixes to the US version as SE always do when making a US version of an unlocked phone.

This was in fact the firmware of W760 (when it wasn't announced), and this firmware revision was still in operator testing. Anyhow, as you can see with the number of phones, the base is the exact same, and this proves there was an R3 firmware (at least for testing).
So am I right in guessing the 2mth delays for Firmwares (last 2 where 2mths apart for the K850i) is due to the different fragmentation of A200 devices?
* K850i has image stabilization (others don't)
* W890i is the only A200 platform on market that is Walkman branded that is 3G for European nations.
* W760i has GPS built-in with A-GPS support (WayFinder inbedded); sorry the Z750i also is supposed to have GPS built-in (no auto focus; not walkman like the upcoming W760i).
* W910i also A200 but no 3G.
Are these differences causing SonyEricsson developers this much trouble or is it causing the branding team issues with providers. SE SHOULD have kept to the original press statement that no provider branding would be set on the K850i? Or is this statement regarding SE doing the branding.
