now i'll tell a little nokia story:
one fine day(27 apr thu), i drew my phone from my pocket to make a call and found it dead . It wouldnt switch on at all, which surprised me as i had charged it fully that morning.
When i returned home, i plugged in the charger and after some time, the phone back to life. From then, it began to switch itself off for no rhyme or reason, and would restart only with a charger connected/different mmc/no mmc inserted. Like a sensible person, i came to the conclusion that my firmware was corrupted and decided to leave it at a customer care unit.
On monday, i went to a nokia care and told the problem, also suggesting to flash the phone. The guy who took my phone at the desk grabbed a screw driver and took my phone apart right infront of me! I was shocked to see it being disected like that. But what shocked me more was that the housing was extremely BIG for holding such a small circuit board and things. Then i really understood why nokias are refered to as blocks. If some of the housing was filed off, it would definitely reduce the weight significantly
anyway the guy told me to collect it the next evening.
When i received it the next evening, the phone was back to life, however the firmware wasnt updated. I put the phone in my pocket and by the time i was home(20 mins away) the phone was giving the same problems again.
I went back to the care centre and claimed that he hadnt done anything and demanded that the phone be flashed. The moron said it couldnt be done at their place and i had to go to nokia's seat of power (HO) at koramangala.
The next day(31st),i went to the ho, which was actually another care centre. The sweet lady who attended my query(after a 2 hr wait) told me that the problem would be resolved and asked of to collect the phone the following evening.
Well,i menu back the next day and took delivery of my phone and found that the left soft key had stopped functioning mysteriously! I returned the phone right there and asked the girl at the dispatch counter to have it flashed. She said ok and took it back and told me to wait for a few mins, which came to 30 normal mins by her reckoning.
I thought that at last i would have my phone restored to working condition, but nokia seems not to give its customers that pleasure. The phone was returned with the lsk working, but still not flashed *sigh* as it was getting late, i decide to come back the next day. As expected, the phone was off even before i was home.
Now, i was mad! I went back again next morning and asked the same sweet lady to please flash the phone, as i had requested from the beginning. Finally, it seems she realized the fw was corrupted and i could collect it on mon. Ok...i was without a cell phone for the weekend. To make matters worse, my pep was taken away for having parked on the footpath in front of nokia ho. I hadnt exactly parked it on the footpath. Nokia didnt have a parking area so 2 wheelers had to be parked in the niche between 2 stairways. Hardly 6 inches of my rear wheel were projecting onto the pavement. The most i deserved was a warning, but no they it away
so i headed out on foot towards the police station for recovering my pep.
To make matters much worse, every damn pedestrian i asked said it was just a little further away down the road, which made me walk two whole km in the hot sun.
The cop slapped down a fine of rs300. Since i had no intention of doing an shopping, i was carrying just rs200. I told him that i didnt have the amount, so he waited until all the others had paid the fine( there was 1 guy who was holding a bottle of petrol as his bike had run dry and he'd good to get fuel when his bike was taken away...sick cops!) then he told me to pay 150 as "tolling charges" meaning it went into his pocket as he gave me no receipt.
It was the first time i bribed some1 and feel damn bad about it.
But what makes me feel worse is that in the 1st nokia care that i mentioned, they publicly displayed a list of software they would put on the mmc at rs 50 per app or 50 apps for 500. Getting cracked apps is one thing, but selling cracked apps is very mean, especially at an authorised outlet of a global company.

Yup, we will be opening up Dell dimensions...actually we have done it quite a few times now. The training has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable..but from what i've seen so far, the dell crm tools suck (when you compare it to ms)
