SE just give the phone to the stores! Why is this SO difficult??The phone retail package IS READY !And I know that!!

My guess is its a network issue it's not even mentioned on the vodafone.co.uk site yet Vodafone told me today they think it will be August 23rd but CANNOT guarentee this and have no idea of prices yet! My money is still on a September retail release date at the very earliest I can only hope hope I am wrong

I've been avoiding these pages as its just so repetitive

but... I just spoke with the manager of the local CPW who hasn't let me down yet and he said that CPW will be launching the M990 (and M600) ni September.

I also spoke to vodafone new sales and also vodafone upgrades and they have 21st August as their launch date and have zero stock, including what is visible as arriving in the next week... not that I would buy a branded one but I saw someone else here mentioned vodafnoe so I thought I'd check just out of interest.

I'm a bit ho hum about it all now and wondering why I would want much the same as I already have in the M600 but in a much bigger package.

I expect though, that I'll get drawn in when they are available, as usual...

Hi masseur you seem pretty adamant that you wil not get a branded phone, my P910i has minimal branding from Vodafone do you get better functions with a SIM free device? or is it just the idea of getting a "virgin" device (Genuine question)

I briefly had a vodafone P910 but sent it back.

basically, I simply don't want other people to make assumptions about how I am going to use my device. Also I don't just use vodafone's service, also I want to be able to update my phone if/when firmware updates become available should I have some issue that is resolved by that update. I don't want to have to wait for the branded update and I don't want to be forced to use 3rd party debranding/updating services.

basically I want my phones to be the way they were generically designed and I'm happy to pay more for that

I never buy phones that some telephone company has tampered with. I don't like it. It should be with the s/w that the producer SE downloaded to it and unlocked ready to use any network!

Okay good news

http://www.scancom.co.uk have stocks coming on Friday and I spoke to their Orange sales manager (ask for her by name "Bhavesha") and they currently estimating they will have 50 units unallocated. So call them on (UK) 08700 110210. All the P990s are for Orange business and personal contracts (UK only). I also believe this first batch are not Orange branded. Good Luck.

Jah, thanks for posting this. l will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, hopefully i will have the phone by Monday. Did they confirm to you the first batch will be unbranded? Really don't want the orange homescreen icons on it. If it is branded then i will cancel and get an o2 contract. If o2 offered a flatrate 3g data tariff, that would be perfect for me.

I know this is slightly offtopic but ive only had ms smartphones for the past few years and getting a p990 now, had a p800 and p900 before but does symbian suffer from the phantom alarm problem that ms smartphones do?

where the device dont wake up causing the alarm not to go off which is one thing that bugged me with smartphone the unreliability.

Does symbian suffer from this?

have used ms pocket pc and i have to say that was one of the reasons i got rid of it-ive used the p900 and motorola a1000 both UIQ devices and have not exprienced that problem at all
