I was just wondering if anybody else is having problems with their keypad lights.

I had problems with my lights when i got my first k850. Some of the led bulbs were very dim and a different hue to the rest of them so i sent it back under 7day return and a new one was sent.

THis one had the same problem so sent it off again and then 3rd time lucky keypad lights are ok now.

I know its so annoying, where is this firmware.

What number do you all ring to speak to sony ericson technical support in the uk.

I rang the support number on the website every time i get thru to them they deny all knowledge of problems and tell me to send the phone to them for repair and say it is hardware faults.

Regarding the K850 firmware, I do believe that many more features from other A200 phones are in the package. I remember downloading that test firmware (R3) some weeks ago, and it was about 10 MB larger than the current firmware. So something has definitely happened.

@Prom1

Z750 has the maps applications built-in, not a GPS It can locate your position using cellular networks with Google Maps (no news there) - this is the method used in Assisted GPS's, only that this one doesn't include the GPS part.

@Mizzle...

Thanks for your inside information on the K850i firmware.

I have a few questions though:

- Are there legal implications if you disclose accurate information on the upcoming firmware?

- Did you test the R3 firmware that you downloaded some weeks ago?

- Is the firmware actually better than the current firmware out there? Or are we getting our hopes up?

- What firmware are you running on your K850i currently?

Thanks!

@mizzle
If you tried the test firmware, did you feel there where any genuine improvements ? particularly for the camera's performance ?

My main issue with the phone is the camera and poor quality pics it currently produces and the shorter battery life.

I dont expect SE to give me new features, just good performance in the ones I have, am I likely to be disappointed, mmmmm we can only wait (and wait) and see. It's making me slightly cross that they are rolling out all these new phones without fixing there flagship model, makes me as a k850i owner feel we have been forgotten.

Care to hint on the new features?

EDIT: Do you think SatNav will come out on the K850? like the N95?

I don't know for sure about the features, but I'd expect the Location stuff to be included (like on W760, W890, Z750). Furthermore, the new menu icons should come in this version as the default ones - don't expect further Flash based menu styles. There are some cool animations in new phones like W760 - i.e. when entering Media, it enlarges and gradually fades out the Media menu icon. All eye candy.
