Samsung announces eight-core Exynos 5 'Octa' chip at CES
"
Exynos 5 Octa chip, based on the ARM big.LITTLE / Cortex A15 architecture"
"expected to run dual quad-core set ups (
1.8GHz A15 for the hard work, 1.2GHz A7 for lighter tasks) all on a 28-nanometer process."
So, how about 8 cores for the H2 flagship?
the next half flagship and all future tables , phablets & mobile phone is confirmed to be just Qualcomm
Sadly it wont matter much. SGS4 will be the king of 2013 also, everyone will go crazy for octacore... Hopefully they wont be able to make a AMOLED 1080p screen without pentile at least.
they might used it in SG-S5 not the SG-S4 , S4 'll be still Quad Core
no i think octo cores will be for Tablets only

I don't agree at all. Samsung is unlikely to use Exynos 5 quad, because the Exynos 5 dual draws more than twice as much power as the S4 Pro. Sure its faster, but that's obvious; A15 cores were designed for use in servers after all. If they use a quad core processor, or less likely, a octa core processor, they'll struggle to avoid melting the phone without severely underclocking the A15 cores.
Big numbers mean nothing to me and most other people, there is a reason alienware doesn't sell in the same volumes as the MacBooks, even though they cost the same and are much more powerful. The Xperia Z is an extremely classy phone and if it can be desirable to people, it matters little how powerful the SGS4 is. The iPhone 5 is more powerful than the GS3, but did that alone make it sell? Nope, brand power did that.
More than making ultra-powerful phones, Sony should focus on building a desirable brand. They already had strong brand presence, they just need to play on it and advertise their phones as such.

Guys, why is Samsung misleading people by saying Exynos 5 is octa core?????? When in reality it's just quad core with 4 power saving extra cores.
this is marketing. Remember when Intel first released their dual core? it was just 2 single core and they dont even communicate with each other. Besides..are there even enough apps out there to use even all 4 cores in quad setup?

Sorry, but I think it's a badly written article. The article is based consumers with tech knowledge viewpoints. An average consumer don't care whatever type of quad core inside. As long it's a quad core, they will go for it.
