I would wait for 810 SoC, just H 265 encoding is enough reason for 4K video recording. GPU should be more capable and I would guess that most flagships would be on 2560X1440 screen by then.

I still hope this is just a Z1 Compact variant and not the successor. If not, the only positive thing about it is IMO that they have reached the end of the bigger screen race. Otherwise the 4th Compact would probably sport a 5" screen
. They should only increase the screen, if the length can stay under 130 mm or else there is nothing compact about it...
