Brix I disagree on most of what you said,
1 - no SP as far as I know have the phone yet, therefore when they get it they will sell for much higher, up to 4000!
2 - they expecting it mid november, they cant drop the price drastically just for the christmas rush.
3 - amawanqa just got us some comparitive prices, its still holding its ground overseas...
If it was me, Id get it....
EDIT. My K700 just as fooked up, I cant download anything even with a strong GPRS signal, mxit dont work, opera dont work, and all of a sudden phonrotica vids are not supported by my handset.. WTF???!!

@wanqsta: R3600 is PAYG...don't know whether that includes or excludes the starterpack. It should be free on their Talk contracts.
If anyone wants to buy an "unbranded" K750 I think Cell C is the best option with only minimal branding inside the phone.
MTN ain't saying when they're getting the phone, many of their customers have been bitching and moaning wanting to upgrade but they don't have it in stock.

@ brix,
Thanks for that. Not too many hundreds of Rands difference at the mo then; indeed demand is keeping its price up here for now,as 786KBR was referring to....but it will be interesting to see how the prices drop in the two countries respectively,in the coming months.
Let's watch this space,come December...

@786KBR: I don't mind people disagreeing with me. I wasn't saying retailers would drop their prices for the Christmas rush, to the contrary...they'll maintain the their margins and after the festive season get rid of excess stock.
If Falcon says the phone is available then it was either is a grey import or SE/Vodacom had you fooled saying the W800 would be available in November.

@786KBR: Shouldn't Falcon be more wary considering that it's an import? Question one needs to ask before parting with R3600 is whether the phone comes with some sort of warranty.
PS: This discussion reminds me of the shop at the Gateway Mall in Umhlanga that was selling a PSP for R4000 a couple of months before it was launched.
Sometimes waiting ain't too bad.

Is there any possibility that this may have an effect on the local market, in the sense that suppliers clear their stocks in anticipation of an influx of new 3G stock?
One would think that we wouldn't be that far behind the UK in having these new models available thru Vodacom...
Maybe not in time for Xmas, but relatively soon after that, hmmm?

@Kryptik: Hopefully those phones get here in time for the mad dash that is December. Not that I'll be one of the customers.
