So, you are saying that some of the values from the cam driver are written in the memory at phone startup.
Then if we delete the driver and restart the phone, this routine will not work, because there will be no driver to take the values from, right?
But then if we put the driver back in the /other/drv folder, the camera works perfectly without restart. Why? I'm missing the point.

What for you asking so much questions?
What do you think about dispdriver0.dat?
Did the phone refresh dirty data in display driver without restart?
Not of couse!
And in camdriver0.dat, too. The end.

At loading in the memory writing only basic parameters, such as driver version:
seq_get_prop_0 = $s1 05 $s0 03;
and some other.
The driver version couldn't be changed without restart. Check it now...
Sorry, I don't know all basic parameters, yet.

That's why camera working if you put driver after loading.

Andeo, I'm not meaning to be difficult, I just want to have a good understanding, but do you know of any basic variables that are loaded at startup that affect actual picture quality? See, I don't really care about the camera version updating.

And please don't get impatient with me, I'm a computer tech, I know all about drivers and hardware etc. I fully get the concept that SOME things need to be booted to properly initialise, but I also know most drivers on a windows pc can be installed without restart, that's why I'm asking are you just assuming that the camdriver needs a restart, or have you actually pinpointed driver variables that affect picture quality that need to be loaded at phone startup?

I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to verify exactly what you are saying.

all this pictures take by change the driver and restart the phone !!!!!

Camdriver 3.1 - Original size 525kb

Camdriver 5.0a - Original size 489kb

Camdriver 5.5ua - Original size 471kb

what i can see is........
sharpness is almost the same, not much different.....
3.1 and 5.0a have same color tune.... 5.5ua maybe a little blue....
5.0a got same quality with 3.1 but with lower file size ......

What about you say?
There are very big white stains to be distortion.
Maybe it's puff of smoke or something else...

A agree with it, because v5.5U have some little errors in exposure settings.
I eliminate all these errors in v5.0

To max_wedge:
There are many difference between Windows and SEMC platforms.
I sayd only that I think right.
Sorry, if my words irritate you.
