I've read in a few reviews, including bengalboy's, that A2DP works great.

@mrvanx, I'm not trying to pull people away, just putting an alternate possibility with a comparative product

I believe A2DP is supported out of the box although a poster @Modaco appears to have an issue with his Jabra BT620s and the TyTN. He is currently waiting to here back from HTC.

Edit: He has just heard back from HTC support already. Apparently the BT620s should work and they are "working with Jabra" to resolve it. The quick response from HTC at least shows their aftersales support looks to be both responsive and proactive - not really something you can say about SE's support these days.

Intellisync is available for WM5. Which is better than blackberry. Still waiting for the UIQ3 version Grrrrrr. Why oh why did SE say "Support for push email services" and list them when it should have read "3rd partys will be making this software which isnt out yet". They made is sound like it was built in.

And the reviews, they all sound like they know the push services were in and working when infact they were doing nothing more than quoting the SE press material!!!!! I recommmend one to a customer who MUST have Intellisync only to find out intellisync UIQ 3 isnt out until September!!!

Seriously peeved.

Maybe not pulling people away, but your refreshingly unbiased posts on the subject are perhaps helping to clarify the decision in ones mind. From where I'm sitting the TyTN is starting to look the favourite right now.

First of all, may I say how good it is to see a PRACTICAL conversation going on in this Thread!

In terms of choosing WM5 or Symbian.....
This seems to be a common mistake that many make, as Jah has pointed out, people need to establish as to whether or not they need a PDA Phone or a Phone PDA. Anything with WM5 on it will be prodominently PDA based and therefor give the joys of poor battery life and random software freezes. The P series and similar are more phone than PDA although I would argue that these handsets out perform the WM5 units on a per mhz bases. Yes the new XDA's etc have massivly fast processors but don't seem to do that much more....apart, of course, from crashing more often then Juan Pablo Montoya!

Img going the other way ive just had a imate jamin + wizard before....great device but found it very buggy needing a soft reset every day.

Was a great second device but i wanted an all in one which i think the p990 will be (hopes)

I need a phone first a pda second which the jamin and mostly all wm5 ppc phones are ppc first phone second.

I thin the tytn will still be very buggy which is somthing putting me off.

Might get both though and see

Hehe

masseur, i have always admired your mails......
I was in a dielemma as to whether I should go in for a wm5 or 990i… I asked many to point me a direction as I have never used one in the past, but everyone in this forum seems to so stubborn about the greatness of p990….. even though I am a strong supporter of SE I find that they are loosing ground in many areas, one of which is the release of p990…. They have never come up with any statements to appease its customer base….
Nokia on other hand are a million times better than SE….. in 2001 when my 3210 was damaged they offered me 6210 , which was a higher end handset at that time for free, just for the mental agony I had undergone…..
When my p910 developed some key pad problem I was really put off by the customer care support… inspite of which I support SE due to their very high quality handsets…. But with the new wm5 based phones being released I am feeling that wm5 handsets are going to over ride SE….

I think I will take masseur s advice and might opt for one of the new wm5 based handsets, ofcourse after a little wait????????

@drgopoos, thanks for the comment

@J273, if the M600 is anything to judge by I'm havnig to reset it (turn off and on) every day but I rarely did that with my k-jam and the latest firmware

@Scorchio, perhaps everyone has exhausted the "when is it coming" discussion

@SL33PYH34D, remember though that I have only used the M600 and haven't seen the P990 since the day after it was announced

anywhichway, I think it worth our while looking closely at both these before committing
