@bennie: On Starcomms, I just pay a flat monthly rate of N15,000 for 24 hour access. That's about N500 per day. In other words, my over 37mb log wouldn't have cost me more than N500

I may be going the way of Aya when MTN's free promo ends, my GTE dial-up connection is very unreliable, and with the demise of Mobitel, GTE might be next. They both borrowed from Intercontinental Bank.
I have an Intercellular line which I can use for data, but I'll probably go for the evening time slot 6pm -12midnight

I like the trend I am seeing. Apparently, my switchover is helping others "see the light".

If its what you need, guys, go for it.

@AYA. I am considering dropping my mobile starcomms. Tored of carring three phones. Please give us a progress report in about a month to see how the starcomms data thing is going.

One of the reasons I want to dump the thing is that the handset is useless and they have asked for the same amount it would cost me to get a new line to replace the handset. I guess I won't be replacing it soon.

@everyone. I also use my agilemessenger and it works great. I am enjoymentman on yahoo and hotmail if anyone is interested.

@egunje: What handset are you using on Starcomms?

As with most internet connections, there are times the thing lets you down. But under normal circumstances, it performs brilliantly. Remind me in 3 months time to give an update.
