I always start with 15+mb ram, but leaving the phone in idle or plainly dont start any program for a minute or two will bring up the ram to 17.1mb.

I also observed that just opening and closing the flip regains some ram That is after closing all apps in the task manager, then check the status in flip close, then open the flip, close it again, then check the status.

Update: P910i working sublimely. Considering the Motorola UIQ3 when it comes out. Worst case scenario a Treo 650.

Any advise?

Wonder how long SE will continue to maintain firmware updates for this 990i model??? before it get written off.... Any inputs???

At least a year. Based on previous P series phones and even the firmware updates for more basic models, I would guess around 18 months. The last K750i update for example came out in the second half of last year, around 18 months after release.

This 990i is already very very late in coming out. Oct2006 till now it has at least 5 months of daylight not forgeting the long (1 year) waiting in the dark. I dont reckon much more work on the firmware beyond mid-2007.

After all the various methods, I still get auto-restart when using R9EC. Regreted updating it as it was so so much better in R9EA

bytes, strange...i have less, much less, and now they only happen in one type of situation - sometimes, after more than one day of uptime, when i connect to usb cradle...it doesn´t happen to me in any other way

i do prefer R4B03 because the menu animations are faster (i uninstaled tweak peaks) and i get more RAM during the day (normally always over 11mb, and more than 15 at boot, 18+ with reclaim level 3 sman)

Another weird bug, not very serious but annoying.
In SMS messaging FO mode, I marked a message for deleting and hit the delete button. Two things happened: the SMS message was opened, I may have tapped the wrong part, so this by itself is not the problem; but apparently the message was deleted as well! I was not able to delete the opened message that stayed on the screen or return to the inbox. After a couple of retries I got a kern-exec error and the messaging application closed. Similar timing problems exist with acknowledging received messages and the indicator LED.
As I said, perhaps not a very serious error compared to all the other stuff, but sloppy programming at best.

Just sold the lousiest phone ever made and bought a w880 instead even though i have been using p800 / p900 / p910 and then the lousy p990. I was going to get the M600 but as told by retailer and a sales at sony ericsson shop that the M600 will not have new stock coming in anymore so you know what that means? An announcement for a replacement soon.
