Something to keep in mind, changing menu icons will cause the k800i to act a little slower while in menu, tested this 4 times and its noticeable.

I think as long as the icon files you use for your menu aren't too big, it's fine. I have iPhone icons which don't slow down my menu scrolling at all. Mind you, when you first boot up your phone and you enter the menu, it takes a while to load initially, but after that, all sweet

The menu slows down heaps if I use fullscreen gif files though... I tried the Ever-Changing Green full screen menu (where each icon is a huge animated gif file), and the menu was so painfully slow I'm never gonna use full-screen gifs as my menu anymore haha.

OK, I am completely customizing my w810 (hopefully) and am a noob on modding... I think I got the casemod down. here is what I'm looking for...

SE w810i Cingular (AT&T)

1. swap the keypad with a k750i to get white glow instead of nasty orange, i've heard it has been done, but they dont look the same, just making sure it's a simple replace and go with no extra mods....

2. debrand my phone

3. flash my phone

4. install better camera/sound drivers

I just want to go step by step, and got the k750 back cover on the way to protech my camera, I'm sure I can manage that, but what about the keypad? and what all does debranding do for the phone? everyone I talk to say it's a no-brainer to do it, but what will it do for me? and how do I do it?

remember I'm a COMPLETE noob and phone-retarted, so please take it easy boys

debrand the phone means that you have to flash it. the firmware on your phone is a specific one your operator flashed it with. what you have to do if you wanna flash it:

download a firmware for your phone, download a custom and download a program to flash your phone with.
