Sorry, excuse my iggnorance obviously I read that wrong, are you saying the Americans were "evil" in WW2?

If i was an American I would be outraged. Are you saying putting an end to nazi germany was cruel?! And what on earth do you mean, cruel for fighting Japan? Japan only annhilated the Americans at Pearl Harbour! It was so cruel that America fought the japanese! Taking over parts of Asia? Surely you cant just point fingers at America, because with that mentality every empire in world history was evil and cruel, no matter what influances and and advancements they made for the modern world.

About Israel/Palestine, its war of clueless brothers in my opinion. You would think that people with such a similar culture and history would live in peace.

Obiously, you read right! They weren't exactly angels and I'm thinking about the atom bomb, that could have been avoided: Hiroshima was a military base, but still that just doesn't justify the a-bomb!
And no: I'm not saying that USA was the devil in 2. WW. BUt on the other hand, I'm also saying that Japan was cruel, when they took over parts of Asia, particularly when they invaded China
And no: I'm glad that USA put an end to Nazi-germany: I apologize, if I wasn't clear enough

I think it was not just the USA that put an end to Nazi Germany,

Regarding Japan and the A-Bomb. The A-Bomb did not need to be dropped. Historical evidence shows that Japan was ready to sign the surrender treaty.

here

" The Japanese had already asked the Russians to intercede for them and had indicated they would surrender if allowed to keep their emperor. We proceeded to drop the bomb while calling for unconditional surrender; immediately afterwards, we made peace on terms allowing them to keep their emperor. "

It is very sad to note the fact that Hiroshima was not bombed before the A-Bomb was dropped.

" The selection of Hiroshima was made because the city had not been bombed, and we would learn more about the effects of an atomic bomb upon a virgin city. "

So many historians believe it was akin to a scientific experiment, and it would show the Russian's just how powerful America was.

The second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki unnecessarily..

" The second device was dropped on Nagasaki only days afterwards, before the Japanese even had assimilated what had happened at Hiroshima. They certainly would have surrendered without the necessity of a second bomb. "

Nagasaki was chosen because of weather conditions that meant the primary target was aborted.

I know Japan very well and know that Japan wants peace, and does recognise their past deeds.

I really hope that all countries would do the same and accept their differences and live in peace...

I hope we can push for peace rather than point fingers...

Verses Read by the Imam at Jummah (Friday) prayers today:

Quran Chapter 2 Verses 153 onwards:

O ye who believe! seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere.

And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah. "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive it not.

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits of your toil, but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere,

Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return"

They are those on whom Descend blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.

Open Letter to the Prime Minister on Gaza

The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP
Prime Minister
London SW1A 2AA

30th December 2008

Dear Prime Minister,

The illegal and inhumane bombardment of the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces has shocked us all. The images beamed around the globe show the horror of death and destruction unleashed against an Occupied People, contrary to all humanitarian standards. The mass outrage expressed on the streets of Britain is yet to be reflected in the actions of our government, and this is unacceptable.

While Gaza mourns its dead the deafening silence of our Prime Minister and government is a source of great bewilderment. Is it not time for a firm intervention that brings relief to the thousands of injured? We can only imagine conditions in the beleaguered hospitals where the most basic medicines were exhausted before the attacks, because of the inhumane blockade imposed on the million and a half inhabitants of the strip.

Since 2006, humanitarian conditions have deteriorated to unprecedented levels. Parents have watched their babies die; 600,000 children now suffer from post traumatic disorder as a result of Israeli state terror and international sanctions. It is time to stop this brutality and allow the Palestinian people to live in peace and dignity.

A few weeks ago, it was notable how you rightly rushed to Islamabad and New Delhi in the wake of the Mumbai attacks in order to calm all parties, avert escalation and further bloodshed. One wonders if you intend to visit Tel Aviv and make clear to the Israeli leadership that nothing can excuse nor justify targeting charities, hospitals, medical stores and pharmacies, mosques and universities, causing maximum casualties. Will you then proceed to Gaza and console the orphans and widows of this brutal campaign?

Prime Minister, this is your hour with history and we urge you to take the first step. We expect nothing less of our government than an unequivocal condemnation of Israel's actions, as it has condemned similar brutalities committed by various states around the world.

We urge you to ensure:
• An immediate end to Israel's military assault on Gaza
• An immediate end to the blockade and siege on Gaza
• An end to Israel's violation of International Law
• An end to Israeli Occupation

• Muslim Council of Britain
• British Muslim Forum
• Al-Khoei Foundation

High-profile campaigners have called for an immediate end to the Israeli operation in Gaza. Annie Lennox, Ken Livingstone, Alexei Sayle and Bianca Jagger were among the speakers at a news conference on the issue. Ms Lennox accused Israel of "slaughter".

Asalam o alaikum warah matullah wabarakatuhu

Few verses from the Holy Quran that contain a very beautiful and important message.

115. And indeed We made a covenant with Adam before, but he forgot, and We found on his part no firm will-power.
116. And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves to Adam." They prostrated themselves (all) except Iblîs (Satan), who refused.
117. Then We said: "O Adam! Verily, this is an enemy to you and to your wife. So let him not get you both out of Paradise, so that you will be distressed.
118. Verily, you have (a promise from Us) that you will never be hungry therein nor naked.
119. And you (will) suffer not from thirst therein nor from the sun's heat.
120. Then Shaitân (Satan) whispered to him, saying : "O Adam! Shall I lead you to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that will never waste away?"
121. Then they both ate of the tree, and so their private parts became manifest to them, and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise for their covering. Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray
122. Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him with forgiveness, and gave him guidance
123. He (Allâh) said:"Get you down (from the Paradise to the earth), both of you, together, some of you are an enemy to some others. Then if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My Guidance he shall neither go astray, nor shall be distressed.
124. "But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ân nor acts on its teachings) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."
125. He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)."
126. (Allâh) will say: "Like this, Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allâh's Mercy)."
127. And thus do We requite him who transgresses beyond bounds [i.e. commits the great sins and disobeys his Lord (Allâh) and believes not in His Messengers, and His revealed Books, like this Qur'ân, etc.], and believes not in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) of his Lord, and the torment of the Hereafter is far more severe and more lasting.
128. Is it not a guidance for them (to know) how many generations We have destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they walk? Verily, in this are signs indeed for men of understanding.

Sura Taha, Chapter 20, Verses 115-128

I would also like to take this opportunity to discuss what is happening not only in Gaza but many other places in the world. Innocent people are dying. Children who should be running around in the streets are wrapped in a white clothe and silence on their faces rather than a smile. It brings tears in my eyes to see bodies laying on the ground, to see people pleading for help and yet no one is helping them. Though these are very hard times, but as Muslims we should think Why? Why are Muslims suffering not just in Palestine but in Kashmir, Pakistan, India, Iraq and many other places all over the world? In my opinion, if we need to blame someone for this, it is ourselves that we should be blaming. Yes. We have forgotten who we really are. We have forgotten Quran. We have left aside the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and so Allah has left us to suffer.
Let me quote some of the hadeeth of the Prophet (PBUH).

'Abdullâh said, "The Prophet said, 'Just before the Hour, there will be days in which knowledge will disappear and ignorance will appear, and there will be much killing.' "
(Ibn Majah; also narrated by al-Bukhârî and Muslim, from the Hadîth of al-A'mash.)

I urge all the people who read this post to read the hadeeth below but not just read it ... but think about it. Is it not what is happening out there right now? among the things mentioned in the hadeeth, how many have we taken up?

'Abdullâh ibn 'Umar said, "The Prophet - sallallâhu ’alayhi wa sallam - came to us and said, 'O Muhajirun, (emigrants from Makkah to al-Madînah) you may be afflicted by five things; God forbid that you should live to see them. If fornication should become widespread, you should realise that this has never happened without new diseases befalling the people which their forebears never suffered. If people should begin to cheat in weighing out goods, you should realise that this has never happened without drought and famine befalling the people, and their rulers oppressing them. If people should withhold Zakat, you should realise that this has never happened without the rain being stopped from falling; and were it not for the animals' sake, it would never rain again. If people should break their covenant with Allâh and His Messenger, you should realise that his has never happened without Allâh sending an enemy against them to take some of their possessions by force. If the leaders do not govern according to the Book of Allâh, you should realise that this has never happened without Allâh making them into groups and making them fight one another.' "
Ibn Majah

'Alî ibn Abi Talib said, "The Prophet said: 'If my Ummah bears fifteen traits, tribulation will befall it.' Someone asked, 'What are they, O Messenger of Allâh?' He said, 'When any gain is shared out only among the rich, with no benefit to the poor; when a trust becomes a means of making a profit; when paying Zakat becomes a burden; when a man obeys his wife and disobeys his mother; and treats his friend kindly whilst shunning his father; when voices are raised in the mosques; when the leader of a people is the worst of them; when people treat a man with respect because they fear some evil he may do; when much wine is drunk; when men wear silk; when female singers and musical instruments become popular; when the last ones of this Ummah curse the first ones - then let them expect a red wind, or the earth to swallow them, or to be transformed into animals.'"
al-tirmidhi

O Muslim Ummah , we ourselves have brought this injustice upon us and only we can save ourselves from this. Let us remember Allah, as the Prophet (PBUH) did. Let us follow the sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) as the sahabas did.

O Allah please save us from oppressors, O Allah please save us from oppressors, O Allah please save us from oppressors. O Allah have mercy on the Muslim Ummah. O Allah unite the Muslim ummah. O Allah unite the muslim ummah. O Allah have mercy on the people of Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq.
Ameen Sum Ameen

The best weapon what we poses is the weapon of supplication, making dua. I urge all the Muslims to make as much dua as possible that once again, Allah makes us the best Ummah among the others Ummah.

Allah knows the best and is the best planner.

Wsalam o alaikum warah matullah wabarkatuhu
