i don't no what i'm talking about but it looks like he has useed more then 3 pics to make this theme eg the eye on menu bar? am i talkin bollox? lol now time to do some research and find out how i can do it! lol

It can be done - naturally - its not difficult to add 3 images technically - the problem is finding 3 different images that will all look good using the same statusbar in the top and the same softkeybar in the bottum and all with the same colorscheme. The top statusbar and the buttom softkeys cannot be changed - they stay the same on all 3 - you can only change the part in the middle. But you can allways just put 3 pics in a themes - that in itself does not make it look good. It will propably not - unless you work with choosing the right pictures and work alot with the colorschemes. You want to make all 3 pictures blend naturally with the top and buttom bars and with the colors. You want to make it pretty while at the same time be functional - be able to read all information.

Thats the difficult part of theming - and the thing that differentiates between just themes and good themes.

The thememakers here work alot with these things in mind trying to make the themes look good - thats why you can find so many good examples from the thememakers - and why when one start out theming, it doesnt allways quite look the same. A litle practice though and most get the hang of it pretty well

i have no idea realy i'm a complete begginer lol but i want to get into this and i hope to be as good as you and the rest of the guys (and girls), so what do u use to make the themes? where can i get what i need to start? and do u no any tutorials?

have u noticed that water and shinny objects sem to look very clear much better then other themes? i think they look crisper, so u think u could make some funky cool shinny themes? the madder the better! lol

a lot of the themers here hang out at www.mobile9.com theres a thememaking forum, in there are some tips, hints etc. maybe you can stop by and take a browse

i dun make a lotsa themes. but i spent a lot of time into each one of them. just my 2 cents worth..... i feel that getting nice pictures is the easy part. with todays internet, u can get loads of them. proficiency in photoshop would help if u can play with varies effects. a keen sense of photography will also play a part in preventing the images looks like a typical mug shot... i mean good framing of subject will make the wallpaper interesting. (using crop & rotate) as we need to make the images fits on the phone screen.

but most importantly, is the design sense of color co-ordination, without which....like spawn says... a theme is just another theme.
design intent of a good theme must be functional; to make using the phone pleasing to the eyes. so color contract / co-ordination must be more important.

i find this part harder to achieve....as spawn can testify when he helped me with one theme. so perhaps should look out for some adverts/coprwrites to observe the kind of color scheme they use. wonder what would happen if i use a good set of color palette to begin with, b4 looking for images. i dun know. maybe experience thememakers or some graphic designers can share with me their train of tots during their creation.
