dammit, why didn't they release the silver XS originally?!?...looks great...maybe i'll wait until the hayabusa gets a refresh in silver...that would be awesome..

Meh, for a company coming off the large losses from the past several years we can't expect a full turn around to profit in just 3 months. Kaz has been taking a lot of steps to move Sony in the right direction and hopefully we will start to see the fruits of this effort as we approach the holidays.

I guess I was right then, randomuser? I have been pretty spot-on with regards to business decisions, not only when it comes to Sony/Sony Ericsson but others as well.
Sony has next year to really come to the party. If they can't prove that they can compete with Samsung then they are in for a shock.
Their entrant into the mobile arena as Sony Mobile starts in January 2013.
I remember questioning their 40 million per annum forecast, I believe I said they are going to fall short and now they have revised that figure. My figure was around 36 or was it 38 million?

They didn't do too well but these numbers are still better compared to last year. So no Sony isn't going DOWN. Last year Sony Ericsson shipped only 22 million smartphones in 12 months. This year Sony is already at 15.5 in six months.

So its possible that the new phones under sony will not be here before march 2013. But realistically, 2nd half of 2013 is where I bet they will be really competitive.
