Can anyone confirm once and for all if Sony Ericsson has ever announced a new product at CeBit or
during any other tech conference for that matter.

No. Would that be wise? giving reporters/bloggers such short notice before showcasing a product at an event?

What make you think every single site can post up the press release at the same time early in the morning?
also, there're things they do in those Sunday events that are off record, that is, you wouldn't know unless you're invited, and you have no proof even when you know because they make you sign some legal documents, confiscate your camera and all recording devices. and the best part, not all attendees will get to see the same thing... or anything

As nothing is for sure.. Why would SE not present new models at CEBIT? Does a phone need to be ready for presentation? I remember phones were mostly bugy on almost all presentations, so that is not the case i think. Is there any CEBIT like event in near future after CEBIT? And after all why would SE need any event like CEBIT to present new models. SE can present new phones whenever they please.

Same here. I`ve seen Sofia. I`ve seen the proto though.. besides the cam features, wich are outstanding, it`s nothing special (in compare with K800).. and at this moment I need a real powermachine, a real smartphone and I think the N95 is it for me!
Using (a broken..
) W880 at the moment but in May I will buy the N95..

N95 has nice specs but with such a poor battery life can it really be thought of as an ultimate convergance device?
