Yeah, because Sony Ericsson had so many feature and Symbian phones on sale in 2011... The only two non-smartphones were the Mix Walkman and Txt Pro, but I don't thing these two gained any popularity.

The results are not surprising. The weak Euro, lack of demand, (weak global economy in general) is hurting Sony. It's not just Sony, if you take the gaming industry for example, games and hardware are selling well below expectations. I hope Sony will recover soon.
As for the Vita, people should judge if its a hit or a flop maybe after 2 years from now. It's premature to call it a flop. Even PS3 was in this state and it has recovered well. It needs a few great games, games like monster hunter, COD, etc. Sales will pick up big time when those games are released.
Sony is not going down anytime soon, they might have lost some value and they have had some tough times, but they are still big. People have the right to be Ericsson fanboys, but that doesn't mean Sony should perish just because they ended the joint venture. That's one ridiculous wish!

Sony is in it for the long haul with the Vita. It will slowly build a following with each big game release. That's the strategy.

Well I haven't seen anything that would suggest that they will continue making newer "play's"... Xperia play is nearly 2years old so its pretty much cancelled in my book at least.
And about Vita making it in the long run, well I personally don't believe that (the market has changed), but lets not talk about that here. As far as the financial report, its a flop, huge one too.

I think this SL Grey has a bit of a professional & artistic beast! Lets just hope its a beast within: S3 Pro or S4 Qualcomm cpu maybe with a Mali 400MP GPU.

Hey Genius, why don't you actually read the official Sony Ericsson 2011 Q2 earnings release ?
7.6 million handsets were shipped out of which 70% were smartphones. Get it now, Mr.Genius ?
And for the whole year 2011
had shipped 22.5 million Xperia smartphones.
And when are you getting rid of your Neo ? I hope soon so we could all be spared from your useless bickering

As I understand it, he is a Sony employee and apparently the one who leaked the slides about the tablet - correct me if I'm wrong. This brings me hope that we might see cybershot level camera tech find its way into phones in 2013
