Taken from GSMarena review of the X10.

Most of the XPERIA weaknesses are hardly deal breakers and most people could live with them. Sony Ericsson have done enough though to reassure everyone that the XPERIA X10 will be on a par with its Android rivals at the time of release. Don’t underestimate the amount of hard work put into the X10 during the long manufacturing process. The delay was definitely worth it.

Sony Ericsson have also promised that Android 2.1 will at some point be available for the XPERIA X10, enhancing its capabilities with multi-touch support and making full use of the 16M color-ready display.

Nope. Only does 800x480, which isn't quite 480p (480p would be 854x480 as the screen on the X10 actually displays). It works out to a 15:9 ratio, at 480 lines of resolution. Until the EVO 4G, there aren't any Android phones that do 720p (though I think the Vivaz does... but it's not Android).

For those interested, GSMArena has done a comprehensive review:

My favourite quote from the GSMA review:

"As we already mentioned, we expect the retail firmware update to come knocking on our door any moment now, so we’ll update this review should we see improvements in any aspect of the XPERIA X10. For now it remains what it is – a huge leap from what we saw several months back and an exceptional high-end cameraphone with only a few faults that can be excused."

@ Sealover I am saying this is my favourite quote because, I like what this phone has to offer and am seriously considering it as my next phone. Nothing I have seen, even the stuff that you have made up, which is due out by my next upgrade, has a better all-round package. I am NOT a fanboy and am not defending SE blindly because of that.
I am not a kid, and watch most of the same sites as you and a lot of the other guys here, unlike you we can read what is actually coming out, rather than being blinded by the need to try and start a row....

I can think of nothing funnier than you visiting future X10 threads, probably to window-shop or try and spread some hate out of pure jealousy...If you don't own a phone why visit a thread for it's users? Shows how little else of use you have to do...

OK sorry I felt the need to vent there guys.... On the + GSMA are normally pretty fair and accurate in my experience and this is one of the most positive reviews I have seen of not only the X10, but of any phone recently, and theirs was Pre-Production too?!?

I'm dissapointed with loudspeaker performance and audio quality, I was expecting at least W995/Aino levels. I really hope it's because of the firmware in the review unit from GSMArena. Let's wait and see

Strange, several sites have mentioned that it produces excellent SQ, the latest beeing a Norvegian site.
In fact, they brought it along to an expert, and he praised the SQ?
Maybe a fw thingy?

From the Gsmarena seems like an okay phone that needs Android 2.1 to reach its promise.

For now the UX UI or whatever it is supposed to be called saves it from being another Android phone out there.

Doesn't excite me at all.

Just a question. Do all Android devices will going to have Flash 10.1 support?

I read that not all Android devices will get Flash 10.1, it'll depend on the processor. The X10 processor will support it and I think only 1 or 2 of the current HTC line-up.

@OffLineR
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260574571711 I got my X10 from here two days ago and it's already at the FedEx sorting place in Stanstead. When it arrives I'll confirm it's the real deal with some box pictures. i believe it's the EU version rather than the UK version, but I don't think that'll make much difference as all versions carry English language packs.
