Have to agree with MyP910 review above, I'm loving this Z1, not had any bother since swapping first one which did have screen issues and blacking out, hoping for KitKat (although could be few months) as I really like KitKats!!:)
@ vikeviki sorry to hear you're having probs I know how frustrating it is, hope you do get sorted with a good one, its a shame Sony's had these qc issues

how can i fix it ?
The Xperia Z also had this problem which was fixed after a few firmware updates.
You can fix it temporarily by;
1. Disable Stamina mode
2. Go to settings > Apps and look for and open eco mode controller - tap to open App info
3. Force stop
4. Clear Data
5. Reboot.
This worked on the Xperia Z. Not sure if it will work with the Z1.

Vikeviki, it seems you are not alone with the overheating issue.
See this link from the sony mobile website:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5[....]RIA-z1-getting-hot/td-p/386739
I also saw similar feedback on Japanese websites from people who tested display models.
There are two hypothesis:
- A firmware problem (a bug)
- A design problem (hardware)
In case it is a firmware bug, it would be good that Sony communicates on it, and confirms it is a firmware problem.
So people would be angry, but not completely mad as if it is a hardware problem.
It would be even better that phone makers releases phones after they are ready.
If this is a design problem (the longer Sony waits to communicate, the more likely i will suspect it is), then they will not be able to fix it easilly. In this case, my guess would be: it was too ambitious to pack a snapdragon 800 in a water and dust proof thin glass box. A fix could be to underclock the s800 (or set the limit lower) to make it more similar to a s4 or s600 heat wise. But this may not fix the part due to the thin glass casing and would come at the expense of performance.
With the screen lottery and uneven parts assembly, I will wait and see a little more...
Moogoo and all, what is your experience, did you experience heat issues?

Hmm users reported that Z1 can't record video longer than 5-7 minutes without overheating. Can someone confirm it can record a video 10-15 minutes long?
