. Sony Ericsson is stingy and disgusting in the global market.

There is a "keitai corner" thread in this section if you want more details and Google helps too.

actually a lot of other manufacturers do this in japan also. for example the sharp phones, they have amazing tech over in japan, but nohting gets here they are even getting a new sharp phone which has a 3D display, which requires no glasses to view the 3D

Idiots.

The volume is not going to be there for WP7 for it to be worth it to Sony Ericsson right now. They are better off focusing on their Android lineup now and revisiting WP7 sometime in the future.

So that means they're weak.

^ But they have one WP7 device that is pretty much ready. Its worth going in with one device at least and if it bombs they can ditch it. Microsoft have made the rules such that the general hardware is very similar meaning that the playing field is even. If puts a good camera in and gives it a stunning design with the arc slider, surely thats already better than most of the current devices?

just like what a lot of people are saying here, you have your own right on choosing your phone. it may be because of your loyalty that you chose that brand or it may be because of the looks, the specs, etc. I have always chosen SE mainly because their hardware is spectacular, and this reasoning is based on my experience. you may have experienced faulty SE phones, but not me. A phone is always half hardware, half software. for me, hardware is more important cause if you have faulty hardware, you can't fix that while software on the other hand, we will always have the hackers and chefs. I would really like to jump to HTC but I fear their hardware faults, they have a lot actually, just look it up. My cousin got a motorola droid 2 first than me but her droid 2 is down and limping. while my x10 is still standing. That's just one device, yes, but my time with SE has been guaranteed with superb hardware and sometimes sub par software which I would rather take than sub par hardware but superb software.

The company will also launch the Sony Ericsson Xperia X12 codename (Anzu)

Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg stated that the mobile phone maker might be working with the parent company Sony Corp. for a smartphone with a slide-out controller to play video games. Bert Nordberg said he is aware of speculation that the company is working on a smartphone that would take advantage of Sony’s experience in developing handheld PlayStation console.
“There are a lot of smoke, and I will say there must be a fire somewhere,” said Nordberg, said during an interview. “Sony has a very strong offering in the gaming market, and this is very interesting

Mr. Nordberg said analysts have been focusing too much on sales volume parachutes during the period from July to September. Sony Ericsson can easily increase the sales volume by offering cheaper phones, but profitability is more important, he said. “We make no phone at 50 € ($ 68.43), because we will not make money,” he added.
